Stonehenge is a megalithic monument on the Salisbury Plain in Southern England, composed mainly of thirty upright stones (sarsens, each over ten feet tall and weighing 26 tons), aligned in a circle, with thirty lintels (6 tons each) perched horizontally atop the sarsens in a continuous circle. There is also an inner circle composed of similar stones, also constructed in post-and-lintel fashion.

It is thought that Stonehenge dates back thousands of years, to approximately 2800 BC.

Stonehenge is a circular setting of large standing stones surrounded by an earthwork. No one is quiet sure how old it is, who built it or what it's function was. There are many theories, ranging from an astronomical observatory (it is aligned such that it can predict eclipses etc) to religious temples to a calendar.

Stonehenge is angled such that on the equinoxes and the solstices, the sun rising over the horizon appears to be perfectly placed between gaps in the megaliths. But this is purely coincidence - the Earth's orbit has shifted several times in the 5000 years since it was built, and at the time of it's construction, the sun would not have lined up with the gaps at all!

Stonehenge sits on a major Grid Point on this planet.

Constructed without the use of draft animals and shaped by stone tools, Stonehenge was erected many miles from the quarry from which the stones came. It is an amazing feat of engineering, and many stories, both old ones and retellings, frequently name Merlin as this engineer. The building of Stonehenge is usually portrayed as a grand project commissioned by the King of Britain (be it Arthur, Aurelius or Uther). However, the archaeological evidence at Stonehenge simply does not support this.The archaeology points to a construction date between 5,000 and 3,000 years ago (more than likely, several construction dates over this time).

The monument is believed to have been an astronomical calendar used for clocking and predicting the seasons. Some researchers link it to the Crop Circle phenomenon and visitors from other worlds.

In the summer of 1996 investigator and friend, Colin andres, discovered a 7 inch glyph in the inner ring of a stone about four feet from the ground. The pattern matches one of the Crop Circles.

Stonehenge has a long history of building and remodeling, but excavation has revealed that there were 3 main periods of building. The first beginning, about 3100 BC, was late in the Neolithic age and included the digging of a circular ditch and ring of 56 pits called the Aubrey Holes.

In the second period, about 1,000 years later, the massive rock pillars were somehow transported from Southernwestern Wales, and put up in two distinct concentric rings around the center of the site. It is believed that this double circle was never finished and was dismantled during the period of rebuilding.

The greek philosopher, Plato, brought to the world, the story of the lost continent of Atlantis. His story began to unfold for him around 355 B.C. He wrote about this land called Atlantis in two of his dialogues, Timaeus and Critias, around 370 B.C.

Plato stated that the continent lay in the Atlantic Ocean near the Straits of Gibraltar until its destruction 10,000 years previous.

Plato described Atlantis as alternating rings of sea and land, with a palace in the center 'bull's eye'. [This seems to be a metaphor for the theory of consciousness spiraling around a central source of creation - Sacred Geometry - Phi Ratio.]

Plato used a series of dialogues to express his ideas. In this type of writing, the author's thoughts are explored in a series of arguments and debates between various characters in the story.

A character named Kritias tells an account of Atlantis that has been in his family for generations. According the character the story was originally told to his ancestor Solon, by a priest during Solon's visit to Egypt.

By Plato's account, Poseidon, god of the sea, sired five pairs of male twins with mortal women. Poseidon appointed the eldest of these sons, Atlas the Titan, ruler of his beautiful island domain. Atlas became the personification of the mountains or pillars that held up the sky.

The Greek word Atlantis means the 'Island of Atlas', just as the word Atlantic means the 'Ocean of Atlas'. The firstborn, Atlas, had the continent and the surrounding ocean named for him. Poseidon divided the land into ten sections, each to be ruled by a son, or his heirs.

The capital city of Atlantis was a marvel of architecture and engineering. The city was composed of a series of concentric walls and canals. At the very center was a hill, and on top of the hill a temple to Poseidon. Inside was a gold statue of the God of the Sea showing him driving six winged horses.

Around 9000 years before the time of Plato, after the people of Atlantis became corrupt and greedy, the Gods decided to destroy them. A violent earthquake shook the land, giant waves rolled over the shores, and the island sank into the sea never to be seen again.

At numerous points in the dialogues Plato's characters refer to the story of Atlantis as "genuine history" and it being within "the realm of fact." Plato also seems to put into the story a lot of detail about Atlantis that would be unnecessary if he had intended to use it only as a literary device.

Plato tells a more metaphysical version of the Atlantis story in "Critias." There he describes the lost continent as the kingdom of Poseidon, the god of the sea. This Atlantis was a noble, sophisticated society that reigned in peace for centuries, until its people became complacent and greedy. Angered by their fall from grace, Zeus chose to punish them by destroying Atlantis.

Plato's Timaeus conjectures on the composition of the four elements which the ancient Greeks thought made up the universe: earth, water, air, and fire. Plato conjectured each of these elements to be made up of a certain Platonic solid: the element of earth would be a cube, of air an octahedron, of water an icosahedron, and of fire a tetrahedron. Each of these perfect polyhedra would be in turn composed of triangles. Only certain triangular shapes would be allowed, such as the 30-60-90 and the 45-45-90 triangles. Each element could be broken down into its component triangles, which could then be put back together to form the other elements. Thus, the elements would be interconvertible, so this idea was a precursor to alchemy.

Plato's Timaeus posits the existence of a fifth element (corresponding to the fifth, remaining, Platonic solid) called quintessence, of which space itself is made.

It is unclear why the Easter Islanders turned to statue construction on such a massive scale. Their obsession with it ultimately brought about their downfall as they depleted more and more of the forests for use in the process of moving the giant moai. While the why is a mystery, where it happened and to a large degree how it happened is fairly clear. Each moai was born from the massive caldera of Rano Raraku.

The soft volcanic tuff was perfect material for statue carving. Using harder volcanic rock implements they were able to first sketch out the moai's outline in the rock wall and then systematically chip away at it until the moai was held in place by a thin "keel."

The moai carvers were master craftsmen that had rose through the ranks of a "carver's guild." The production of the statues was most likely through conscripted labor with many rituals and ceremonies performed throughout the process. The stone carvers were ingenious in making the most out of sections of rock. moai can be seen carved in all directions in the cliff face. If a defect would appear in the rock the statue would be abandoned and they moved on to another area. They took advantage of fissures in the volcanic walls and also variations in colors. In short they were true artists.

Finally when a statue was finished, it was broken off its keel and slid carefully down the slope using ropes tied to giant palm trunks which were sunk in specially prepared holes in rim of the crater. At the base of the crater they were raised up and final decorations were carved into its torso and back. Coral and obsidian eyes were placed in as a final touch, although some suggest these were only placed in the statues on special occasions. Preparation was then made for transport across the island to various ahu.

The ahu were the ceremonial platforms built to support collections of moai. As evidence of the difficulty moving the moai, many can be seen along the paths of ancient roadways where they broke along the way and were abandoned.

It is believed that the statues were commissioned commemorative images of lineage heads. However, the moai are not portraits of specific individuals although some may have inscriptions or other markings that linked them with specific chiefs. Why they chose the stylized design of the angular face and long phallus shaped bodies is unclear and is one of the greatest mysteries of the Rapa Nui.

While there are some other stone sculptures made by Polynesians, none is similar to the moai. In parts of South America, some statues have been found which resemble the "kneeling" statue on Rano Raraku, but nothing anywhere else resembles the standardized moai design that the Rapa Nui carved over a thousand times.

Once the statues were reasonably complete, they then had to be transported across the island to the platforms prepared for them. This involved a trek of 14 miles in some cases. How were these massive Moai moved to the sites? Barring any extraterrestrial influence it seems likely that they were rolled along the ancient roads that crisscrossed the island on logs lubricated with the oils from palm trees. Some suggest that they were moved in an upright position and kept stable by crews manning ropes. This mode would verify the island legends of the statues "walking" to their sites. From a distance seeing one of these great Moai moving along the road bobbing up and down as the logs moved underneath would surely have looked like a statue moving under its own power with a procession alongside it. What a sight that would have been!

However, recent computer simulations by Jo Anne von Tilburg at UCLA have shown that it would have been much simpler to position the Moai in a horizontal position on two large logs and then roll the whole unit along on other logs placed perpendicular to it. Using this method Van Tilburg calculated that an average moai could have been moved from the quarry to Ahu Akivi in less than 5 days, using approximately 70 men. Her theories were recently put to the test in a successful experiment to move a moai replica on Easter Island sponsored and filmed by Nova (see Resources section)

Once the journey was complete the Moai were positioned atop great platforms called ahu. Built at the edge of the ocean, the ahu required just as much engineering know-how and raw labor as the statue construction itself. It is here that the Easter Islanders' stonework skills can fully be appreciated. As seen in the images to the right of Ahu Naunau and Ahu Tahai, massive blocks and tons of fill were required to build the supports for the moai. Although they were an incredible engineering feat, most of the ahu built were less than elegant constructions. At one mysterious site, however, it was much different.

The stonework of Ahu Vai Uri is compared to that of Ahu Vinapu on the southern shore near Rano Kau. The detail shot shows the incredible precision in the stone fittings. It was this precision, so similar to the stonework done by the Incas, that gave Thor Heyerdahl the idea that the Easter Islanders had come from South America in reed boats on the prevailing currents. Stonework of this complexity had not been seen in Polynesia, but it was common in Peru. It's impossible to look at that site and not think of the exact type of stone fitting which is so common in sites like Machu Picchu. Most archaeologists consider the similarities a coincidence. If so, it is a remarkable one.

Soon ahu with erected moai were installed on all corners of the island, until over one thousand had been carved, and the population of the island also continued to grow. For decades the competition to build the biggest and best moai went on, and different ahu - each belonging to a different clan - formed an almost unbroken line along the coast of Easter Island. The culture had reached its zenith. And then something went terribly wrong . . .

Chapter 4: Conflict: The Fall of the Moai

A chilling story of resource exploitation and destruction on Easter Island is beginning to come to light. The first westerners to discover the island wondered how any one could have survived on such a desolate, treeless place. Indeed, this was a mystery until recent core samples taken from the crater lakes showed that the island was heavily forested with a giant now-extinct palm while the Easter Island culture was active.

Apparently the islanders were greeted with a lush tropical paradise when they first discovered it. It must have seemed inexhaustible. The trees were cut for lumber for housing, wood for fires, and eventually for the rollers and lever-like devices used to move and erect the moai.

As the deforestation continued the moai building competition turned into an obsession. The quarry was producing moai at sizes that probably could never have been moved very far (one unfinished moai in the quarry is 70 feet tall!) And still the trees came down. With the loss of the forests, the land began to erode. The small amount of topsoil quickly washed into the sea. The crops began to fail and the clans turned on one another in a battle for the scarce resources. The symbols of the islanders' power and success, the moai, were toppled.

Eyes were smashed out of the moai and often rocks were placed where the statues neck would fall so it would decapitate the moai.
The violence grew worse and worse. It was said that the victors would eat their dead enemies to gain strength, bones found on the island show evidence of this cannibalism. With the scarce food supplies it may have been a question of hunger as well as being ceremonial. A spooky cave (up pict.) at the southwest corner of the island, Ana Kai Tangata, is translated to "cave where men are eaten." Inside are pictographs painted in ochre and white of ghost like birds flying upwards. With no wood left to build boats, all the Rapa Nui people could do was look enviously at the birds that sail effortless through the sky. The Rapa Nui culture and community, which had developed over the past 300 years, collapsed.

Their island was in shambles, and their villages and crops destroyed. There was no wood left on the island to build escape boats. The few survivors of the conflict, perhaps numbering as low as 750, began to pick up the pieces of their culture. One thing they left behind, however, were the moai....

Chapter 5: A New Cult

The Easter Islanders were more cut off from the world then ever before. Any dreams of escaping the destroyed island were dashed by the lack of wood. The only boats they could build were small rafts and canoes made of tortoro reeds. Even fishing must have become extremely difficult at this point. The island was a wasteland, the eroded soil just barely producing enough food for the meager population to survive. It was under these conditions that the Birdman Cult arose.

It's possible that the Birdman practices had been going on during the reign of the statue cult; however, it eventually took over as the predominate religion on the island and was still in practice up untill 1866-67.
High on the rim of the crater known as Rano Kau was the ceremonial village of Orongo. Built to worship the god of fertility, Makemake, it became the site of a grueling competition.

Each year leadership of the island was determined by the individual who could scale down the vertical slopes, swim out to one of three small islets in shark-infested waters, and bring back the egg of the nesting sooty tern unbroken. The one who did this successfully was considered the Birdman of the year and was bestowed with special honors and privileges.

One of the most fascinating sights at Orongo are the hundreds of petroglyphs carved with birdman and Makemake images. Carved into solid basalt, they have resisted ages of harsh weather. It has been suggested that the images represent birdman competition winners. Over 480 Birdman petroglyphs have been found on the island, mostly around Orongo.

As Birdman images transformed the rocks, so too were the islanders transformed. It seemed that the culture was beginning to rebuild itself. We will never know whether the Rapa Nui would have survived and prospered, because in 1862 wave after wave of slave traders landed on Easter Island and took away all healthy individuals. In the space of one year, a level of injury, death and disease was inflicted on the population leaving a broken people, bereft of leadership. As their culture lay in disarray a new force entered the scene whose actions would forever deny the world of a true understanding of the Rapa Nui culture.

The missionaries arrived on Easter when the people were at their most vulnerable. With their society in ruins it did not take long to convert the population to Christianity. First to go was the islanders style of dress, or lack thereof. Tattooing and use of body paint were banned. Destruction of Rapa Nui artworks, buildings, and sacred objects, including most of the Rongo-rongo tablets - the key to understanding their history - was swift and complete. Islanders were forced off their ancestral lands and required to live in one small section of the island while the rest of the land was used for ranching.

Eventually all pure Rapa Nui blood died out. Annexation with Chile brought new influences, and today there are only a few individuals left with ties to the original population.

Yang paling mengetahui lengkap semua probabilitas yang mungkin tentu saja yang bisa melihat topografi super string.

Tp jika sebuah entitas memiliki kemampuan melihat diatas dimensi ke 4, mereka bisa melihat possibilitas yang mungkin terjadi dari setiap "Perubahan" yang ada didimensi bawahnya.

Ruang dimensi memang sebenarnya Finite, ada probabilitas yang berdasarkan "The Initial Condition" dari Big Bang yang tidak mungkin terjadi.

Waktu adalah 1 rangkaian Circular bagi satu space tertentu, Karena didalam Dimensi ke 6 sendiri waktu bisa bercabang maka konsekuensi ketika membicarakan dimensi ke 5 dan bawahnya adalah waktu itu melekat pada SPACE dimana dia berada.

Maka istilahnya Space-Time Continuum (Kemelekatan Ruang-waktu).

Atribut Panjang-Lebang-Tinggi + Waktu adalah yang menciptakan apa yang kita anggap "Posisi".

Dan ketika "Posisi" ini melakukan perpindahan maka itulah kita sebut "motion" dan ketika saat itu terjadi maka kita juga merasakan adanya sensasi "waktu".

Tp apakah kalau tidak ada motion maka waktu tidak ada ?

Kita tidak merasakan dimensi waktu yang sirkular sama seperti mahluk 2 dimensi yang merasa hanya bergerak lurus saja diruang 3 dimensi yang berbentuk circular.

Pemahaman paling gampang adalah contoh Pelaut jaman dahulu kala yang menganggap bahwa bumi itu kotak. Kalau berlayar terlalu ke ujung nanti jatuh. Padahal bumi itu sudah berbentuk bulang sejak 3 milliar thn yang lalu. Tetapi "Sensasi" datar ini dirasakan karena mereka tidak dapat melihat bahwa bumi itu berbentuk bulat dan tidak mengerti mengenai Gravitasi yang akan menjaga mereka utnuk melekat pada bumi yang bulat.

Berdasarkan asumsi bahwa Super String itu memang ada, maka sebenarnya kita mempunyai Alternate Time on Same Space (Bumi yang sama orang yang sama waktu yang berbeda), Alternate Space in Alternate Time (Bumi yang berbeda, orang yang berbeda di waktu yang berbeda )dan artinya kita memiliki Alternate Universe (Bumi mungkin tidak ada, anda dan saya mungkin tidak ada, bahkan tata surya kita mungkin tidak terbentuk sama sekali.)

Selama satu dekade terakhir telah ditemukan 270 sistem keplanetan di luar Tata Surya (exoplanet). Sebagian besar planet ini berupa planet gas dan bermassa kurang lebih setara dengan Jupiter – bahkan lebih. Belakangan, ditemukan juga planet-planet yang lebih kecil. Massanya setidaknya 10 kali massa Bumi, sehingga kemudian disebut sebagai super -Bumi (super-Earth). Istilah super-Bumi sering digunakan untuk menunjuk planet bermassa 2-10 kali massa Bumi. Penggunaan istilah ini agak rancu, karena menyiratkan bahwa planet tersebut berupa batuan dan massa, dan massanya menjadi satu-satunya pembeda dengan Bumi. Namun, planet yang akan menjadi objek pembahasan dalam tulisan ini sangat mungkin berupa icy planet dengan komposisi yang berbeda sama sekali dari komposisi Bumi.

April tahun lalu, sebuah tim internasional yang dipimpin oleh Stephane Udry melaporkan penemuan dua super-Bumi yang mengorbit bintang Gliese 581. Masing-masing bermassa 5 dan 8 kali massa Bumi. Dilihat dari jarak planet tersebut ke bintang induknya, kedua planet menjadi kandidat pertama sebagai planet yang berpotensi “layak-huni”.

Semenjak penemuan ini, beberapa grup peneliti telah mengkaji kelayakhunian dua super-Bumi tadi. F. Selsis dkk. memodelkan atmosfer planet dan meninjau apa yang terjadi ketika planet berada di jarak-jarak tertentu dari bintang induknya. Jika posisi planet terlalu dekat, air akan habis menguap sehingga tidak akan ada bentuk kehidupan seperti yang ada di Bumi. Jarak terjauh dari bintang yang memungkinkan untuk muncul dan/atau bertahannya bentuk kehidupan adalah batas jarak ketika CO2 tak lagi mampu menghasilkan efek rumah kaca yang cukup untuk mempertahankan temperatur permukaan planet di atas titik beku air. Kita masih belum bisa menentukan batas/jarak kelayakhunian ini dengan pasti, karena belum bisa memodelkan awan yang melingkupi planet secara mendetail. Sebenarnya, di Tata Surya kita sendiri pun keterbatasan ini muncul. Dari studi iklim, diindikasikan batas-dalam zona layak-huni berada di sekitar 0.7-0.9 AU sedangkan batas-luar berada di antara 1.7-2.4 AU.

Sementara itu, W. Von Bloh dkk. meninjau zona layak-huni yang memungkinkan planet serupa Bumi bisa melangsungkan fotosintesis. Proses ini tentu saja bergantung pada “bahan baku” planet, yakni konsentrasi CO2 dan keberadaan air berwujud cair. Model yang diketengahkan von Bloh mengandung aspek utama kesetimbangan yang terus terjaga antara kandungan CO2 di atmosfer dan lautan, dengan proses pelepasan gas tersebut melalui proses tektonik. Kesetimbangan inilah yang menyebabkan temperatur di Bumi tidak sepanas Venus ataupun sedingin Mars. Sedang. Dan, layak-huni! Di dalam model von Bloh, kemampuan planet mempertahankan keberlangsungan fotosintesis sangat bergantung pada usia planet. Pada planet yang terlalu tua, keadaan geologinya tidak akan aktif, artinya tidak akan terjadi aktivitas tektonik maupun vulkanik. Dengan demikian, proses pelepasan CO2 terhambat dan pada akhirnya planet tidak lagi layak-huni.

Gambar di atas menunjukkan zona layak-huni di sekitar Matahari dan Gl 581 menurut perhitungan Selsis dan von Bloh. Hasil dari kedua tim menunjukkan bahwa tampaknya planet Gl 581 c tidak layak-huni, karena berada terlalu dekat dengan bintang induknya. Sebaliknya, planet Gl 581 d bisa jadi layak-huni walaupun kondisinya kurang mendukung untuk munculnya kehidupan kompleks. Planet ini mengalami apa yang disebut tidally locked. Sebagai gambaran apa akibat tidally locked, kita bisa meninjau sistem Bumi-Bulan. Kita lihat bagian Bulan yang menghadap ke Bumi selalu sama. Demikian juga dengan si planet d ini. Bagian yang sama akan selalu menghadap bintang yang diorbitinya. Perbedaan temperatur antara bagian siang (bagian yang menghadap bintang) dan bagian malam (bagian yang membelakangi bintang) besar sekali. Akibatnya, tiupan angin kencang pun tak terhindarkan. Tampaknya, bentuk kehidupan yang muncul di planet ini akan tumbuh berkembang dalam iklim yang tidak wajar.

Selain itu, kedua planet mempunyai orbit yang lonjong (eksentrik); jarak ke bintang menjadi berubah-ubah. Karena berada relatif dekat ke bintang induk, waktu yang diperlukan untuk mengelilingi bintang otomatis lebih singkat, yakni 12,9 hari untuk Gl 581 c dan 83,6 hari untuk Gl 581 d. Tampak dari gambar bahwa planet d di kala tertentu berada di luar zona layak-huninya selama perjalanannya mengelilingi bintang induk. Namun, planet ini masih akan layak-huni kalau atmosfernya cukup tebal. Bagaimanapun, kondisi yang menentukan kelayakhunian planet Gl 581 d mestinya sama sekali berbeda dengan apa yang kita ketahui di Bumi.

Lepas dari nada yang agak pesimistis di atas, kemungkinan salah satu planet tersebut layak-huni tetap menarik karena bintang induknya merupakan sebuah katai merah, bintang dengan kelas spektrum M. Sekitar 75% bintang yang menghuni Galaksi kita merupakan bintang kelas M. Bintang-bintang kelas ini berumur panjang (mencapai puluhan milyar tahun), stabil, dan mampu membakar hidrogen sebagai bahan bakarnya. Dulu, bintang kelas ini dipandang sebelah mata untuk memiliki planet. Sebab pertamanya adalah planet (seandainya ada) yang berada di zona-layak huni di sekitar bintang yang bersangkutan akan mengalami tidally locked. Akibatnya, atmosfer di bagian malam akan membeku untuk selamanya. Alasan kedua berkaitan dengan aktivitas magnetik dahsyat yang menimbulkan flare dan lontaran sinar X dan UV luar biasa yang sanggup menyapu atmosfer planet. Meskipun demikian, secara teoretis bintang kelas M tidak bisa dihapus begitu saja dari kemungkinan memiliki planet. Bagi para astronom, mendeteksi planet yang berada di zona-layak huni bintang kelas M lebih mudah dideteksi daripada yang berada di sekitar bintang sekelas Matahari (kelas G).

Satu hal yang jelas: hasil kedua tim peneliti menegaskan bahwa Gliese 581c dan Gli 581d akan menjadi target utama bagi misi ESA/NASA yang akan datang, yaitu Darwin/Terrestrial Planet Finder (TPF), yang didedikasikan untuk mencari kehidupan di planet yang serupa Bumi. Wahana-wahana tersebut akan mampu menentukan sifat atmosfer.

Dua pandangan yang berbeda dari Selsis dan von Bloh. H. Beust dkk. ini belum cukup untuk meninjau kestabilan dinamis sistem keplanetan Gl 581. Tinjauan semacam ini penting untuk mengetahui bagaimana evolusi orbit mempengaruhi iklim planet. Di Tata Surya, gangguan gravitasional antarplanet menyebabkan orbit Bumi secara periodik berubah dari lingkaran sempurna menjadi agak lonjong. Perubahan ini cukup untuk memicu terjadinya pergantian zaman es dan zaman yang lebih hangat. Perubahan orbit yang drastis justru akan menghalangi munculnya kehidupan. Beust membuat simulasi sistem Gl 581 untuk berevolusi hingga 100 juta tahun ke depan. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan sistem stabil dan ternyata, terjadi perubahan orbit periodik yang tidak berbeda jauh dengan apa yang dialami Bumi. Artinya, iklim di kedua super-Bumi diharapkan stabil, sehingga setidaknya tidak menghalangi kehidupan berkembang di sana, meskipun kesimpulan ini juga tidak membuktikan bahwa kehidupan memang ada di planet tersebut.
