Dear fellow translators, I found a free software which I think will benefit most of us: http://www.sequencepublishing.com/thesage.html It's a dictionary as well as a thesaurus.
*phew* it's been a while since my last post in this thread... I think I've missed a lot of useful information here... (including those related to job vacancy :( ) Umm... today after a lot of search, I finally found the installer for a collocations dictionary and I have uploaded it on a ...
You might want to try this, sist p1nk: http://download.cnet.com/Quad-Lock-Unit-Converter/3000-2054_4-10062102.html It's not a dictionary, though.
For electronic dictionary, I usually use: - Kamus 2.04, IndoDic --> FREE! - WordWeb (Monolingual dict. + thesaurus) ---> FREE & RECOMMENDED! - Oxford Collocation Dictionary - KBBI offline I also use: - Google Translate (it sucks to use this to translate a whole document, but it can be help...
Thx, bro Ambrosiana! :shakehand2 Actually, I have downloaded the trial version of Wordfast just now. I hope I will be able to understand how to use it. Many translators say that they can work faster with these tools, so I'd like to try them.

Since I don't know whether sharing a contact for applying a job is permitted or not, I have sent the info you requested via PM. p.s.: do not tell them my opinion about the payment, o.k.? :D
In addition to the information given by Ambrosiana, you might also become one of the freelance translators for a post-production house. ps: IMHO, the payment is not that great though if you get the job via post-production house ... :p Nevertheless, they will always have a job for you.
Hehe....That's what I always do while finishing my translating jobs... Cannot resist the temptation... :malu
Wow... this is a very interesting thread, (especially for a newbie translator like me :o)! Yeah, I also think it's common for translators to be paid per certain numbers of characters for their works. In fact, I usually charge my client Rp. xxx / 1500 chars (no space) of the translated docum...
