You No Longer Have Me Chapter 01

Eleanor's POV
At a class reunion, our homeroom teacher suddenly asked everyone about their current romantic situations.
He first turned to Chole, our prom Queen:
“Back then, I confiscated the love letter you wrote to Julian. Do you still hold a grudge against me?”
With tears in her eyes, Chole cast a tender glance at Julian and shook her head.
Then our homeroom teacher turned to Julian:
“If you could turn back time, would you accept Chole’s confession and make up for what you missed out on back then?”
Yesterday, we had just celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary.
Julian, my husband, glanced at me out of the corner of his eye and replied without hesitation:
“I would.”
The atmosphere instantly lit up.
“Just as I expected—a perfect match back then. After all these years, it’s still the two of you.”
“A couple finally gets their happy ending today. Thanks to this class reunion.”
Having gotten the answer he wanted, the smile on our homeroom teacher's face grew relaxed.
Holding his wine glass, he sighed with emotion:
"Back then, so it wouldn't affect your SATs, I had to break you two lovebirds up."
"But knowing you still have a chance now takes a huge weight off my chest."
Good-natured laughter echoed through the private room.
The class president took the lead to chime in:
"We all know your good intentions, sir. Anyway, true lovers never miss each other. Being a little late just proves that love is destined. Maybe this reunion is the very catalyst. Julian, wouldn't you say?"
Julian just smiled , as if silently agreeing.
Chloe's face turned even redder, practically burying her head into the table.
I stared at my glass, my eyes unfocused.
Because back then, the person who was actually with Julian was me.
Chloe had merely written him a love letter.
Yet everyone thought the one who should be with him was Chloe.
Even Julian had hidden the ring on his ring finger.
Suddenly, Chloe looked at me and said sheepishly:
"Eleanor Vance, could you change seats? I want to sit next to Julian."
The chatter in the room died down, and everyone looked at me.
The class president was the first to laugh:
"Oh, our gorgeous Chloe can't wait any longer?"
His tone carrying a hint of suggestion and urging me.
"Come on, Eleanor, I've got a seat over here. Come sit by me, don't get in the way of their bonding."
Another burst of roaring laughter followed.
Chloe bit her lip, looking at me expectantly.
And I looked at Julian.
"Should I move?"
