Leukemia Cheater My Sweet Revenge Chapter 01

The year Julian Vance cheated on me, he was diagnosed with leukemia.
When the mistress ran off, I silently donated my stem cells to him and nursed him hand and foot.
The day Julian was discharged from the hospital, I insisted on a divorce. Instead, he knelt down and begged for another chance, swearing he would never betray me again. My heart softened.
While we were trying for a baby, we went to a couples' hotel for a romantic getaway, only for me to wake up halfway through the night to an empty pillow. I finally found him in the room next door, wearing a bathrobe and holding that very same mistress.
Julian calmly let go of her and explained, "I just went downstairs to grab the takeout and accidentally walked into the wrong room on my way back. Nothing happened between Vivian Hayes and me, so don't get the wrong idea."
I didn't believe him and demanded they take a DNA test. Julian's face darkened; he forcefully carried me back to our room and slept with me three times in a row. Biting my ear, he whispered, "Victoria Vance, believe me. Right now, all I want is to have a baby with you and build a happy family of three. Just stop making things difficult for Vivian."
I chose to give him one last chance.
Three months later, Julian accompanied me to my prenatal checkup when a fire suddenly broke out in the hospital. I was still getting my ultrasound, but he abandoned me to save Vivian, who was having her own checkup next door.
"Vivian is pregnant too, and she's much more delicate than you. I need to save her first!"
As Julian ran out carrying Vivian, I fell to the ground, trampled by the fleeing crowd. Without even glancing at me, he planted a heavy foot right on my lower abdomen.
The baby was gone. And Julian and I had reached the end of the line.
By the time a kind stranger helped me to the hospital entrance, Julian was nowhere to be seen. My abdomen was severely injured, and I was bleeding non-stop. Out of habit, I called Julian for help, but before I could even speak, he impatiently snapped:
"Victoria, why are you being so unreasonable? Just take a cab home by yourself. Do you really need to bother me? Vivian was just startled. I need to take her to see a doctor."
Right after, I heard Vivian say on the other end: "Julian, don't worry about me. Go find Victoria. Just leave me here to fend for myself."
"Be good, don't say that. I'm not going anywhere today. I'm staying right here with you..." Julian said, and hung up the phone.
Julian cared so much about the pregnant Vivian that he didn't hesitate to abandon me in a burning hospital. I couldn't help but suspect that the child in Vivian's belly was his. But none of that mattered anymore. I didn't even care about Julian himself anymore.
I called an ambulance and went to another hospital. The doctor examined me and was just preparing to perform my D&C procedure when Julian suddenly burst through the door.
"Dr. Jenkins! Vivian is over there complaining of stomach pains. You need to go examine and treat her right now!"
Only then did he notice me lying on the operating table. His face turned pale, then livid, as he angrily demanded:
"Victoria, you're doing this on purpose, aren't you? You didn't go home, but came all the way here just to steal Vivian's doctor?"
I let out a self-deprecating laugh. So this was the kind of person I was in Julian's eyes. He was the one who had cheated in the first place, and Vivian was the one who had immediately run away after he was diagnosed with leukemia. I was the one who donated stem cells and took care of him. During that time, I was forced to shut down my company, left completely exhausted both physically and mentally. And in the end, this was what I got.
I looked at Julian, my voice trembling. "Do you even remember what you promised me? You said you would never betray me again, that you and Vivian were completely over. What are you doing right now?"
A flicker of guilt crossed Julian's face, but in the next second, he looked entirely self-righteous. "Vivian is pregnant. Do you expect me to just leave her to die? Victoria, how can you be so cold-blooded? She's in poor health right now. I have to take Dr. Jenkins over there. Stop making a fool of yourself here."
Saying that, he forcefully grabbed Dr. Jenkins to drag her away. He didn't even notice that my pants were soaked in blood.
Dr. Jenkins hurriedly shook him off and said sternly, "No, a D&C procedure cannot be stopped halfway. The patient will be at risk of infection or even severe hemorrhaging..."
Julian didn't care at all. He sneered. "Victoria is just acting out of jealousy over Vivian. This is none of your business. You have to come with me right now!"
Ignoring whatever Dr. Jenkins said, he forcefully dragged her away.
I stared at Julian's retreating back, utterly disappointed. "Julian, I want a divorce."
I clearly saw his footsteps falter, but in the next second, he walked away without hesitation.
A few seconds later, Vivian's voice drifted over from the next ward. "Julian, won't the other patient be angry that you dragged their doctor away like this?"
Julian answered gently, "So what if she's angry? As long as you're safe and sound, I don't care about anything else."
Vivian laughed smugly. "I knew it, you care about me the most..."
At that moment, a gut-wrenching pain tore through me. The nurse who had come over to check on me said in a trembling voice, "Ms. Vance, you're hemorrhaging... I'll go get Dr. Jenkins right now!"
Hemorrhaging? No wonder I was so dizzy, my heart pounding out of my chest. Yet I clearly heard that after the nurse rushed to the next ward, Julian said in a deep voice, "What hemorrhaging? It's all a bunch of lies! Dr. Jenkins isn't going anywhere today, or I swear I'll file a complaint with the hospital director!"
He was convinced I was lying, but I was already slipping into shock from severe hemorrhaging.
