Too Late After Your 100 Affairs Chapter 01

After I caught my husband, Daxton Benefiel, cheating for the ninety-ninth time, he went out of his way to sleep with Paislee Clifforth—the woman who had stolen my place in my family. And it was just to get revenge on me.
When I walked in on them, there wasn't a hint of remorse on his face—only an unapologetic, shameless arrogance.
"Jolene, your sister is a hell of a lot better in bed than you are."
In my past life, those words shattered me. I lost my mind and caused a massive scene.
I leaked photos of them together for the whole world to see.
Unable to take it any longer, Daxton finally divorced me.
My parents completely lost faith in me as well and kicked me out of the house.
I thought time would make things better, but reality taught me a brutal lesson.
Having grown up wild in the countryside for 18 years, I lacked the skills to support myself even after being brought back.
Coupled with the Benefiel family's retaliation, I could barely keep food on the table. A few years later, I died of cancer.
Meanwhile, Paislee—the fake heiress—married Daxton and rose overnight to become a darling of high society.
As for me, his ex-wife, I was nothing more than a laughingstock.
When I opened my eyes, I had returned to the very day he first slept with Paislee.

"Jol, what are you just standing there for? Get in there and see who that slut is!"
My mother urged me, her face a mask of anxious worry as if she was really concerned about me.
But if I looked closer, I would realize this entire "ambush" had been orchestrated by the two of them.
In my previous life, I had been away on a trip, and it was my mother who had conveniently reached out to tip me off.
At that time, I was consumed by rage. I had rushed home and flown into a violent confrontation with them.
Daxton laid his hands on me, causing me to miscarry right then and there.
Mom, though pretending to be heartbroken, hadn't rushed me to the hospital.
And so, with her silent approval, I lost my child, my marriage, and any ground I had left to stand on.
I closed my stinging eyes for a moment, forcing down the dull ache in my chest, before turning to walk away.
In this life, I had finally learned the truth—love meant nothing. Only money mattered.
Seeing me walk off as if nothing concerned me, my mother stared in astonishment. She gritted her teeth and suddenly threw the bedroom door wide open.
A scream erupted instantly.
Paislee frantically pulled the quilt over herself, tears streaming down her face.
"Mom, I... I drank too much. I didn't mean to..."
My mother put on a display of shock, rushing over to point and wail at her through forced tears.
Daxton didn't even flinch. He just calmly fastened his belt and lit a cigarette.
When he finally looked at me, his voice was heavy with mockery.
"So, what's the plan this time?"
The first time I caught him, I had hacked off the other woman's hair.
The second, I clawed at his secretary's face.
The third, I stormed into his office and made such a scene that the company's stock actually took a hit.
I lost count after that. All I remembered was my throat burning from all the screaming and my face twisted into something unrecognizable with rage.
Eventually, I became a local punchline—a spectator sport for anyone looking for a laugh. "That crazy woman is here to catch her husband cheating again."
But with every outburst, Daxton only grew bolder, his disrespect more blatant.
In this life, however, I was done with him. I had reached a point where all I wanted was some quiet and a life of my own.
Suddenly, Paislee dropped to her knees in front of me, trembling with terror.
"Jol, it's all my fault. Don't blame Dax. Just blame me instead."
She looked so innocent, so fragile, yet she was doing everything she could to protect a man.
It worked, of course. A flicker of emotion crossed Daxton's face, and the look he gave me grew even colder.
"Jolene, this was my doing..."
"I'll be going now if that's everything. I'm going to be late for an appointment with a friend."
I cut him off before he could finish.
Then, ignoring Daxton's stunned expression, I simply turned and walked away.
My mother panicked, but by the time she scrambled after me, I was already gone. She was left standing there, frozen in shock.
No one had expected me to react this way.
