The Billionaire Triplets' Regret: After She Left Chapter 01

I was so desperate for money that when the System told me I could earn a hundred million for completing a single romantic conquest mission…
I didn't even think twice.
“I’ll take on three!” I committed to the System at the top of my lungs.
“And I’ll do them all at the same time.”
After all, back in my original world, I was the ultimate corporate workhorse. I knew how to balance schedules to perfection; I could juggle three high-pressure jobs without breaking a sweat.
[Are you really that desperate for money?] The System asked with confusion.
“Let’s just say I need more money than you can imagine,” I replied. And I started to do the math in my head.
The total payout would be enough to stop my gambling addict father from selling my mother and younger sister to ruthless drug traffickers.
To save them, I was willing to sell my soul.
So, the system gave me three targets.
[Target Number One was Sebastian Cole. On the surface, he was a billionaire tech genius, but in the shadows, he reigned as the King of the Dark Web.]
[Target Number Two was Alexander Cole. A prodigy surgeon who walked the razor’s edge between the legal world and the criminal underworld.]
[Target Number Three was Dominic Cole. A titan of the legal industry and the primary legal consultant for a powerful Mafia family.]
And offer me an ability to check affection scores hovering.
When the target falls in love with me, I can get money and quit.
I thought the missions would be straightforward: redeem the billionaires, fall in love, and get paid.
However, I never expected that every single billionaire would come with a "first love" attached.
For five years, I was physically and mentally tormented by these three women.
And the affection scores hovering over the billionaires' heads? They didn't budge an inch. My body and mind finally reached their breaking point.
When the System told me that death was the only release, I was in the middle of a punishment.
I was kneeling on the floor at the command of billionaires Number One, Sebastian Cole.
His childhood sweetheart had just returned from abroad. She had "lost" her bracelet and insisted that I was the thief.
I refused to admit to a crime I didn't commit. Sebastian was so furious he slapped me across the face.
"You're the only one who touched Victoria Sharpe's bag!" he roared.
"If you didn't steal it, who did?"
Victoria wept beside him, looking as fragile as a pear blossom trembling in the rain. "Sebastian... that bracelet was the only keepsake Grandma left me. It is my only memory of her. If I can't find it, I'll truly fall apart."
Her tears only fueled Sebastian's rage. He lashed out, kicking me hard directly in the knee.
The sharp pain caused my legs to buckle, and I collapsed onto the frozen ground.
"Sarah Jenkins, I am asking you one last time. Did you take the bracelet? Where did you hide it? If you don't speak, you will kneel here until nightfall."
It was late December—the dead of winter. Even in the daylight, temperatures plummeted to more than ten degrees below zero.
If I knelt here until nightfall... even if I didn't freeze to death, I would be crippled for life.
Besides, I knew Sebastian's nature. Confession or not, he would make me kneel for the entire day regardless.
I had endured this hell for five long years.
But in this moment, something inside me finally snapped.
I scrambled up from the freezing ground and screamed at Sebastian.
"Fine! I stole it! I stole it!"
"I deserve to die for stealing her precious bracelet, don't I? I'll atone with my life, right here and now. Are you satisfied?"
I turned on my heel and sprinted toward the artificial lake on the villa grounds. It might have been man-made, but the water was unfathomably deep.
And Sebastian? He was terrified of water.
I knew that if I jumped, he wouldn't dare follow. My death was guaranteed.
I reached the edge. Without a shred of hesitation, I threw myself into the icy void.
But I never expected what happened next.
Just as I leaped, Sebastian plunged in after me.
"SARAH! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR DAMN MIND?!"
