Damaged Goods Free For The Taking Chapter 01

My fiancé erupted in rage all because his foster sister claimed that the cheap ointment I prescribed her had given her a filthy disease.
On the spot, he broke the hand I use to write prescriptions,
and took the intimate photos we took when we were in love, posting them on a second-hand platform with the caption,
"Damaged goods. Free for the taking."
His friends tried to talk him out of it:
"She's about to marry you. Are you really going to ruin her?"
My fiancé replied calmly:
"She carelessly prescribed the wrong medicine to Victoria Sterling, caused her to get sick, pushed her into depression, and nearly drove her to suicide. She still refuses to admit her mistake. She doesn't deserve to be a doctor."
"I'm just scaring her. I don't actually intend to give her away or let her catch some filthy disease too."
Pale-faced, I stood at the door and met his gaze.
He showed no trace of guilt or remorse, just gently brushed my hair and said:
"This time you were wrong. You deserve to suffer."
"Only if you cure Victoria's illness and personally apologize to her."
He paused for a moment, then added:
"You will still be my beloved fiancée."
I held back my tears and forwarded the link.
A second later, someone messaged him privately: "I'll take her."
But Sebastian Sterling smashed the wine bottle in his hand, his face darkening.
Sebastian's so-called friends immediately fell silent, hardly daring to breathe.
Someone tried to persuade him: "Maybe let it go? Don't let this actually turn into a disaster..."
Sebastian glanced at me sideways:
"Eleanor Vance, what do you think?
Do you want to come with me and apologize?"
I lowered my eyes and turned to leave without a word.
Behind me came Sebastian's cold, mocking voice:
"She doesn't care, so why are you guys panicking?
Someone's willing to take her, so how could I refuse?"
I slowly walked out of the bar.
In the hallway, many people watched me, whispering among themselves.
I felt lost and helpless.
Until a drunken man lunged at me, grabbing my waist and muttering filth:
"I just tested positive for syphilis last week. That's your type, right? Come with me."
I screamed and cried for help, but the passersby stepped away in disgust.
Their voices, full of revulsion, drifted over:
"Isn't she the girl from that post online?
How shameless—said she wanted to try collecting every kind of nasty disease."
"Ignore her. She's probably seducing him on purpose. Disgusting."
My teeth chattered uncontrollably as I said:
"Stay away!
My husband is right here!
If you dare touch me, he won't let you off the hook!"
"If you had a husband, would you be acting like a slut online?
Your post looking for diseased men has gone viral. What kind of man would want a cheap woman like you?"
He waved his phone, and the page on the screen made my heart ache uncontrollably.
"Go ahead, call your husband to save you. If you can actually get him here, I won't touch you."
As soon as he finished speaking, the door to the private room at the end of the hall opened, and Sebastian walked out with his friends.
Seeing him, my tears fell instantly, and I choked out a plea for help.
"Honey, save me!"
But Sebastian didn't even spare me a glance. Instead, he jokingly said to the drunk pressing down on me:
"Buddy, you don't make the cut. This woman… prefers men who come with diseases."
I watched in despair as he walked away without looking back.
The drunk laughed loudly:
"That was Mr. Sterling. How could he ever be interested in a shameless woman like you?"
I don't know how much time passed before a large amount of blood began to pool beneath me.
The man was so frightened that he scrambled to his feet, cursing as he fled.
Like a walking corpse, I got up and went to the hospital's emergency department.
The baby could not be saved.
I had intended to surprise Sebastian with the news of my pregnancy as a third-anniversary gift.
But now, my child was nothing more than a bloody mass on a surgical tray.
The colleague on duty looked at me with a complicated mix of emotions.
"Eleanor, Mr. Sterling has put pressure on the hospital. He's demanding disciplinary action against you.
The administration has decided... to revoke your medical license and sue for damages. I heard... it's over a million."
I closed my eyes, a wave of bitterness rising uncontrollably within me.
My colleague continued, her voice filled with heartache:
"How could Mr. Sterling change so suddenly?
He invested millions in this hospital just for you, and he nearly died saving your life back then."
"He loved you so much. How could he break your hand and destroy your medical career for another woman now?"
Yes, why indeed?
