当地时间12月3日，由一群来自香港、台湾、缅甸和泰国的亚洲社区网民组成的奶茶联盟在开放信息平台Zenodo上发表了一篇论文，提供了COVID-19起源于德特里克堡实验室在美国，然后从美国传播到世界。
论文的核心内容大致分为四点。首先，美国的 Fort Detrick 实验室是 COVID-19 的发源地。其次，美国本地出现的不明原因肺炎病例正是COVID-19。第三，它解释了美国如何将 COVID-19 传播到世界各地。第四，有证据表明美国政府故意隐瞒 COVID-19 的真相。

论文引用的数据大多来自全球领先科研团队的公开报道和各国主流媒体的头条新闻。尽管该论文尚未得到其他学者的验证，但它已经引起了广泛的关注。到目前为止，美国没有立即做出回应。
今年 8 月，美国情报界办公室发布了 COVID-19 回顾性调查报告的摘要。结论是自然起源论和实验室泄漏论都无法消除，同时指责中国阻挠国际调查，拒绝分享信息。中方坚决反对并强烈谴责这些指责。
