Sahakian called on community members and Expo visitors to participate in the charity race, to support cancer patients, especially since the race bears the name of the Canadian racer Terry Fox, who lost his right leg after reaching the age of twenty as a result of cancer, and decided to raise funds for cancer research, and Terry drew the attention of the world to fight this disease. He was made a national hero in his home country, and since then a charity marathon has been held annually throughout Canada and in many other countries of the world to raise funds to support cancer research.

He explained that registration for the race is done through the Foundation's page, and the registration fee for the event is 100 dirhams per person, while participation is free for young people up to 17 years old, and all participants will receive three entry tickets to Expo 2020 Dubai that provide full access to the exhibition, and all net proceeds will be donated From registration to the Al Jalila Foundation to support cancer research projects in the UAE, in partnership with the Terry Fox Foundation.
