Ajang penghargaan di awal tahun ini masih belum selesai. Februari mendatang akan digelar Korean Music Awards ke-17 yang daftar nominasinya baru saja diumumkan pada hari ini Rabu (22/1/2020). Taeyeon, AKMU, dan BTS adalah beberapa nama yang tampak di deretan nominasi di berbagai kategori.

Berbeda dengan ajang penghargaan musik lainnya, Korean Music Awards adalah penghargaan yang fokus pada album-album dan lagu-lagu yang telah dirilis sepanjang tahun kemarin ketimbang artis yang membawakannya. Selain itu, pencapaian sebuah lagu dan album dari sisi musik menjadi pertimbangan utama, sementara angka penjualan hanya jadi faktor pendukung.



Korean Music Awards ingin menembus batas-batas antara musik mainstream dan musik non-mainstream. Makanya di daftar nominasi ini, kamu akan melihat banyak sekali nama musisi yang mungkin masih asing di kuping. Beberapa idola K-Pop yang namanya ada di daftar antara lain BTS, (G)I-DLE, ITZY, dan Taeyeon 'SNSD'.
