Jakarta - The Election Oversight Body (Bawaslu) has asked the National Winning Body (BPN) Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno not to debate the alleged election fraud in the public sphere. Bawaslu asks all parties to report if there are election violations.

"The mechanism for handling violations is through reports and findings. If BPN friends feel there is a violation, please report to Bawaslu, not then the debate is put into the public, it's not the way it is," Bawaslu commissioner Rahmat Bagja said on Tuesday (14 / 5/2019).

Bagja asked BPN Prabowo-Sandi to make a debate before the public if he found allegations of fraud. Bagja said, for election cases, a handling mechanism had been provided, one of which reported and showed evidence to Bawaslu.

"Just report it to the Election Supervisory Body. The exact problem is later, so that the people will judge. There is a mechanism, there is evidence that can be delivered. Not then debating in the public without carrying evidence, it becomes a hassle," Bagja said.

As is known, Prabowo-Sandi BPN will explain the alleged fraud in the 2019 election later in the afternoon. The BPN invited a number of parties to look at alleged election irregularities, including the election supervisors and organizers.

But Bagja said Bawaslu had not yet received an official invitation at BPN regarding the activity.

"I have not received an invitation, yet the Chairman has not received the invitation. And whether the invitation is to the institution or how, it must go through the institutional mechanism," Bagja said.

Previously, the invitation was also expressed by vice president Sandiaga Uno after meeting with Prabowo on Monday (12/5). Sandi said the presentation would reveal the alleged election irregularities and carried out a special team. BPN Prabowo-Sandi also invited all leaders of coalition parties and the government.

"Yes, we invite all, in fact we also invite parties from the coalition political parties 01 and we invite all the governments as well. We invite because we want this to be open, nothing to cover up. This is bright for fair and fair elections. And our hope so of course these improvements can be made before May 22, "Sandi said.
