Two Transas Full Mission Bridge Simulators Installed in Semarang
Java Last month, Director General of Fisheries, Husni Mangga Barani officially announced the launch of the Transas Fishing & Navigation Simulator Centre in Semarang, central Java. The simulator operates within the Fishing Technology Development Centre (BBPPI), part of the Republic of Indonesia’s Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
The simulator comprises Transas Navi-Sailor ECDIS, Radar/ARPA, NavAids and the full fishing module, including Echo Sounder, Sonar and Net recorder complete with winch panel and lever control. In addition to under sea water visualization, the main visualization uses 5 circular projectors with Transas Seagull correction.
It covers the Indonesian Exercise Area, including Dumai, Belawan, Surabaya, Jakarta, Arafura and its Semarang water area with detailed port visualization.
During the BBPPI opening ceremony, Aloys Sutarto, Director of PT MultiIntegra (Transas Group distributor), mentioned to local media representatives that the Transas simulator has been installed in 10 institutions in Indonesia. The BBPPI-installed simulator leads the way with its configuration, because of its 5 circular and rear screens for fishing simulation purposes.
At the same time, Mr. Suardoyo, Head of BBPPI said,
“The Fishing Technology Development Centre (BBPPI) is very satisfied with this Transas simulator product and enjoys a high level of service from Transas distributor PT MultiIntegra. All of the systems supplied have exceeded our initial expectations. BBPPI’s high-end technology in navigation and fishing simulation means we can give increased support to the Indonesian fishing community. We can help local fishermen to improve their knowledge of fisheries and provide the facilities they need for enhanced certification, allowing traditional fishermen to sail bigger vessels at more than 60 mile of sea. Our thanks to Transas and its exclusive agent in Indonesia, PT MultiIntegra!”
The city of Semarang is also currently running the installation of a Ship handling Simulator with the configuration of one main Bridge and two Trainee stations of radar/ARPA & ECDIS, at the Private Merchant Academy (AKPELNI). The VTS installation in Semarang sees a total of three concurrent Transas projects in this major Indonesian port.
