I made this thread with the purpose of sharing any forms of information regarding to TOASTMASTER. I find this media of education to be highly important in boosting people to stand out in their life. It is also known that TOASTMASTER is established to improve and develop your speaking skills up to your leadership skill. Last but not least, it helps you interact with other people in an informal and fun way. TOASTMASTER is known to be enrolled not only by students but also businessman, professionals, practitioners, workers, atc encompassing any elements of society.
Here's some things you need to know about TOASTMASTER!

TOASTMASTER was founded and firstly organized by Ralph C. Smedley during his working time in YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) in Bloomington, Illinois, United States. The purpose of the establishment was he saw a need for the men in the community to learn how to speak, conduct meetings, plan programs and work on committees, and he wanted to help them.
Back then, the term of TOASTMASTER was (and still obviously) widely known as a term referred to a person who gave toasts at banquets and other occasions. The first event of TOASTMASTER took place on March 24, 1905 leading to Smedley being offered positions in YMCA in San Jose, California.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.
International Mission : Empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.
District Mission : Build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.
Club Mission : Provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Core Values :
Integrity
Respect
Service
Excellence

At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for approximately an hour. Each meeting gives members several opportunities:
- Conduct meetings
Members learn how to plan and
conduct meetings.
- Give impromptu speeches
Members present one- to twominute,
impromptu speeches
about assigned topics.
- Present prepared speeches
Members present speeches based on
projects from Toastmasters’ communication and
leadership program. Projects cover topics such
as speech organization, vocal variety, language,
gestures and persuasion.
- Offer constructive evaluation
Every speaker is assigned an evaluator who points
out speech strengths and offers suggestions for
improvement.

It's a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 345,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 15,900 clubs in 142 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.

These officers constitute the Executive Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee and the Finance Committee. Each officer serves a one-year term with the exception of the CEO. International directors support Toastmasters in and out of the boardroom as organizational fiduciaries and representatives. They are responsible for:

- Approving and overseeing the budget and financial matters
- Incorporating member needs into organizational decisions
- Handling significant member disciplinary matters
I had my own experiences with TOASTMASTER once, I had the privilege to talk with one of the chief of TOASTMASTER FEB UGM and invited one of its member to set up a workshop-like in my Univ. It was quite delightful to know the concept of TOASTMASTER. Although, at first, you would mistake it with sole speech or something but it actually can give you more than that with the provided concept of TOASTMASTER. It also intrigues me when it covers many regions in the world. Awesome!
So, have you had any experiences with TOASTMASTER ? Or is it something new for you ? Come and share here!
