Batmanis an upcoming episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game based on Bill Finger and Bob Kane's Batman comic book series.
The game's narrative will offer a "fresh interpretation of the universe set in current times, not tied to any existing iteration of Batman in games, film, or comics", according to Telltale Games. The player will take the role of Batman as both the superhero and as Bruce Wayne, his alter-ego. The game will feature a similar branching narrative as other past Telltale games, giving the player options for how to approach a situation and having that choice affect later events in the game. According to Telltale Game's Kevin Bruner, the game will present situations to the player where they may chose to approach as Bruce Wayne or as Batman. Other planned characters include Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya.
The game will be rendered using a "non-photorealistic" look inspired by comic artists Jim Lee, Greg Capullo and Neal Adams. Bruner stated that the game will be similar in maturity to their previous The Wolf Among Us or The Walking Dead. To meet this, Telltale is updating its game engine to be able to produce improved rendering results.
The game will be separated into five episodes, released in intervals. The first episode will be released in mid 2016.
