[ASK] brainstorming technique for writing

Assalamu'alaikum, all kaskuser. Hope you're all blessed in this beautiful day.
Due to my final assignment, i would like to make a research in improving students' writing.
I see the problem in students' writing is in managing ideas, their writing seems messy.
That's why I think they need to be treated by brainstorming technique.
In my research, I would like to compare two brainstorming techniques.
But, I need your opinion about it, what brainstorming techniques do you think interesting to investigate? And why?
