Liputan6.com, Jakarta President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo is requesting for the decision- maker in the Indonesian economic sector to pay attention to the progress of global economy. This is imperative as recently, the Indonesian rupiah is evidently weakened to the rate of Rp 13.000 per US$ 1. The primary sentiment is surely the global factor and it has contributed dominantly in the continually weakening of rupiah.Should this negative trend continue to be the pathway of the Indonesian currency, President Jokowi fears that it will carry with it a pejorative implication to the growth of Indonesian economy in 2015.


"All of us have to be optimistic. We should think positively that are our economy will grow into a better trend. But we also have to be careful and remain alarmed,"President Jokowi said at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/03/2015).


President Jokowi has summoned a number of Ministers including the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Governor of Bank Indonesia and the Head Authority Commissioner of Finance Service to discuss the hammered rupiah.


‎This meeting is the second meeting after the first one that was done yesterday at 07.00 pm local time.


"I want to hear from them straightaway like what we have discussed last night. I am hoping that today's meeting is a lot better than yesterday," Jokowi concluded.
