The US government has urged North
Korea to halt provocative actions, such as
the cyber-attack against a US subsidiary
of Sony, and demanded compensation.
The US determined that Pyongyang was
behind the attack against Sony Pictures
over "The Interview," a film about the
fictional assassination of North Korean
leader Kim Jong Un. The company
canceled the film's release.

North Korea said its army and its people
are fully prepared to confront the US on
all possible battle fronts, including cyber-
warfare.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, US
State Department spokesperson Marie
Harf said the government takes any
threats to US citizens and companies very
seriously.

She said the US urges North Korea to
refrain from further threatening actions.
She said the North should admit its
culpability and compensate Sony Pictures
for damages.

President Barack Obama has suggested
that one response to the cyber-attack
would be returning North Korea to the
US's list of state sponsors of terrorism.
