Man stabbed in Chinatown during busy lunch rush
A MAN has died after he was stabbed in the busy Chinatown precinct in broad daylight this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the Golden Square carpark near the corner of Little Bourke St and Swanston St about 12.40pm.
Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Lisa Hind said one man suffered upper body injuries.
Victoria Police confirmed just after 2.30pm that the victim had died.

Det Sen-Sgt Steve McIntyre said the victim and another man had met at a nearby restaurant before going to the carpark where the stabbing took place.
He said police would review CCTV from surrounding streets and businesses.

Another man suffered wounds to his hand and was arrested by police. He is assisting with their investigation.
The victim was stabbed following an “altercation”, and police believe the pair were known to one another.
Paramedics were desperately working on the man as they wheeled him from the carpark to an ambulance.
About a dozen police are scouring the carpark and taking statements from witnesses.
Investigators were speaking to staff at the Post-Deng Cafe, metres from where the stabbing occurred.
Det Sen Sgt Steve McIntyre of the homicide squad will speak about the incident shortly.
Traffic is blocked on Little Bourke St between Swanson St and Russell St.
A crowd has gathered at the scene.
