Two men, including a 52-year-old, have been arrested for rape in the capital, police said on Saturday. In the first incident, a 52-year-old man was accused of rape by his daughter-in-law in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri.

The 24-year-old woman, who hails from Bihar, told police that she was raped when her husband left home for work on Tuesday. She said her father-in-law barged into her room and threatened to kill her if she resisted his sexual advances. “He then allegedly raped her,” a police officer said.

The victim narrated her ordeal to her husband when he returned home in evening. The couple then approached police, after which the woman’s medical examination was conducted, which confirmed sexual assault.

In her statement to police, the victim said she got married two years ago and her father-in-law had also misbehaved with her in the past. The accused was initially absconding, but was apprehended on Thursday.
