Tahun ini Departemen Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Indonesia kembali menggelar acara di bidang pasar modal melalui The 13th Indonesia Capital Market Student Studies (ICMSS). Rangkaian Seminar dan Training akan diadakan pada tanggal 27 Februari – 1 Maret 2014. Acara ini terbuka baik untuk mahasiswa serta kalangan umum.
Dengan mengangkat tema utama “Emerging Markets: Pathway to be the Next Financial Powerhouse”, the 13th ICMSS akan mengulas perjalanan dan perkembangan Emerging Markets countries, seperti Brazil, India, China, Rusia, Afrika Selatan, termasuk Indonesia. Emerging Markets countries yang digadang-gadangkan menjadi tujuan investasi sekaligus penggerak ekonomi baru di dunia ternyata menemui banyak rintangan. Pergolakan pasar, permasalahan politik, dan buruknya infrastruktur penunjang perekonomian menjadi batu sandungan negara-negara tersebut dalam meraih gelar sebagai 'The Next Financial Powerhouse'. Tema ini akan dibawakan oleh pembicara-pembicara ternama dari kalangan praktisi, profesional, dan juga akademisi, seperti Chatib Basri selaku Menteri Keuangan Indonesia, Ito Warsito sebagai President Director dari Indonesia Stock Exchange, Bakthavasalam Sridhar Rao selaku Managing Partner of Truscel Capital, Ermawati A. Erman sebagai Institutional Capital Market Director dari Danareksa Sekuritas, Lana Soelistianingsih sebagai Chief Economist dari Samuel Sekuritas, Nico Omer Jonckheere sebagai Vice President Research and Analysis dari Valbury Asia Securities, Poltak Hotradero sebagai Head of Research dari Indonesia Stock Exchange dan WahyuTrenggono selaku Director of Indonesia Bond Pricing Agency.
Tema utama tersebut akan dibahas dalam lima sesi seminar yang akan diadakan di Auditorium FEUI. Sementara itu, peserta akan belajar mengenai technical dan fundamental analysis yang diperlukan dalam menganalisa saham pada Training yang diadakan pada tanggal 1 Maret 2014 di sponsor venue dengan salah satu trainernya adalah Gideon Lapian selaku Investment Manager dari PT Treasure Fund Investama.
Selain seminar dan training, rangkaian acara The 13th ICMSS juga diisi dengan International Conference yang merupakan satu-satunya conference mengenai pasar modal yang pernah diadakan mahasiswa di Indonesia. International Conference akan diikuti oleh 24 tim delegasi yang datang dari berbagai universitas di Indonesia maupun luar Indonesia.
Di tahun ketiga belas ini ICMSS diharapkan dapat menjadi pusat pembelajaran mengenai pasar modal untuk mahasiswa seluruh Indonesia maupun luar Indonesia. As one of developing country with an economic growth level of 6.2%, Indonesia is a home to many growing economic sectors. With the growth of economic and industrial which promising high benefit for investor, makesus to choose the sector wisely. Which sectors that have the most potential benefit? And also there are some indicators why a sector can be called as a growing sector. How can we measure that growing sector?

Capital Market Instrument: Recognizing The Risk Characteristics of An Investment
There are many instruments within the capital market that carries a distinct characteristics each unique to its own. This session will be based on the discussion regarding various instruments such as stock, mutual fund, obligation as well as foreign exchange and high risk derivatives. The difference of its functions and its roles will be provided. And also what is the most popular of the instruments now-a-day?

Private Equity: Expanding The Economy with Value Creating Business
Private Equity is one form of investment that provides a high return as well as creates an added value for firms. However, regarding its practices in Indonesia, Private Equity has not gathered enough attentions from the public. This session will discuss the prospect of Private Equity and its advantages as well as disadvantages and also how the Private Equity works.

Financial Education as A Stepping Stone towards Investing Generation
In order to nurture the society’s awareness towards investing activities, a good socialization to publicize the basic knowledge and financial information is imperative, to urge people of the importance of investing since their early years. This socialization process is vital in driving Indonesia’s economic growth.

Fundamental Analysis: The Cornerstone of Investing
Fundamental analysis is well known to be used as stocks selection for both long term investment and short term investment. This session will explain some essentials fundamental analysis methods, such as ratio analysis and valuation method.
Technical Analysis: Identifying Investor’s Patterned Behaviour
Technical analysis is commonly used to decide the momentum to buy or sell stocks. In this session, participants will be introduced to chart and population indicators interpretation in technical analysis, including the advantages and disadvantages of each indicators.

Chatib Basri – Finance Minister Republic of Indonesia
Dr. Muhamad Chatib Basri is currently the Minister of Finance in the Republic of Indonesia. Before this appointment, he was Chair of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (Badan Kordinasi Penanaman Modal, or BKPM).
Ito Warsito – President Director of Indonesia Stock Exchange
Mr. Ito Warsito has been a President Director of Indonesia Stock Exchange since July 2009. He started his career as a Junior Accountant at the Financial Supervision and Development Agency and Accountant at Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia. He was educated at the Sekolah Tinggi Akuntansi Negara (1989) and an MBA at Harvard Business School (1994).
Bakthavatsalam Sridhar Rao – Managing Partner of Truscel Capital
Mr. Rao is a proven expert with 20 years of experience in Merger and Acquisition and Capital Market in Indonesia. He is the founder of Truscel Capital and holds a license as a Certified Public Business Valuer from the Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia and is registered with Bapepam. Mr. Rao is the Managing Partner of KJPP RAO, YUHAL & Rekan, a registered Public Appraiser in Indonesia.
Ermawati A. Erman – Institutional Capital Market Director of Danareksa Sekuritas
Began her career in financial and capital market in 1996 as Institutional Sales Manager at PT DBS Vickers, Ms. Erman’s career continued in PT Danareksa Securities as an Analyst, Equity Research, and Manager. Then in 2002-2007 she served as Institutional Sales, Assistant Vice President at PT NC Securities. She moved to PT Trimegah Securities in 2007 but later in the year 2008 she returned to PT Danareksa Securities and now served as Institutional Capital Market Director of PT Danareksa Securities. She earned her Broker Dealer Representative license in 1998 and in 2000 she was participated the Advanced Financial Statement Training in Singapore.
Gideon Lapian – Investment Manager of PT Treasure Fund Investama
Mr. Lapian has more than 20 years experiences in the financial services industry as a Technical Analyst in Financial service institutions. He was the one of the Asosiasi Analis Teknikal Indonesia (AATI) founders, a full member society of IFTA and now he serves as Secretary of AATI. Also, he is an investment manager of PT Treasure Fund Investama, Indonesia. Recently, he was involved in designing Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) for some benchmark indexes in the Indonesian Stock Exchange.
Lana Soelistianingsih – Chief Economist of Samuel Sekuritas
Mrs. Soelistianingsih has been working at Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia for 13 years providing macroeconomic analytical research and perspective on the Indonesian market. She is also a lecturer at Faculty of Economics Universitas Indonesia for the last 15 years. Mrs. Soelistianingsih received her Masters in Economics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA with concentration in monetary and international economics and her Ph.D in Economics from Graduate School of Economics at University in Indonesia.
Nico Omer Jonckheere – Vice President Research and Analysis of Valbury Asia Securities
Nico Omer Jonckheere joined Valbury in 2005 as a Specialist in Market Research and Equity Analysis and now holds the post of Vice President of Research Division. Mr. Jonckheere’s articles are often published in numerous newspaper and magazines-Kompas, Bisnis Indonesia, Investor Daily, Fortune Indonesia, Tempo, KONTAN, and Jakarta Post, to name a few. In addition, he regularly appears as an Economic Analyst and a Stockpicker in TVOnes, Metro TV, NMC Business Channel 95, Kompas TV and Berita Satu, and is frequently invited as Guest Speaker at various prestigious economic sminars.
Poltak Hotradero – Head of Research of Indonesia Stock Exchange
Mr. Hotradero got his master degree in financial, economy and management from University of Bristol, UK in 2004. He has been a practitioner in financial and investment field for 10 years, with specialty on risk management and investment analysis. He has been the Head of Research of Indonesian Stock Exchange since November 2011.
Wahyu Trenggono – Director of Indonesia Bond Pricing Agency
Mr. Trenggono has been the Director of IBPA since 16 June 2012. Began his career at PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia – KPEI ( Indonesia Clearing & Guarantee Corporation) in 1997 and held various positions from securities clearing operations, capital market risk management, securities lending and borrowing, and his last position is Legal Compliance and Corporate Communication Department Head. He became Head of Operations Division of IBPA from 2009 – June 2012. He earned Master degree in General Management from IPMI Business School, Jakarta in 2008 and Bachelor of Economics from Gadjah Mada University, Jogjakarta in 1997.
