Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The South African Republic sold $167 mln worth of armaments in the second quarter of this year, down $108 mln for the same period last year.
The figures were released by the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC) in its second quarterly report to Parliament, APA reports.
The $141 mln worth of military equipment was sold between April and June this year, mostly to the United States and Sweden.
The New Age reported that Azerbaijan spent $13 mln on South African military hardware. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Azerbaijan purchased 30 Marauder and 30 Matador mine resistant vehicles from South African Republic.
