Mine is a core I5 3.7 Ghz with a GTX 760 with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB RAM... What also helps, is SSD-disks. Only on the large airports like heathrow, fps drops down to around the 20... But my system is not the best for flight sim... When I compare fsx and p3d, all on the same system, p3d wins!
Where FSX takes alot of your CPU, P3D changes that to the GPU... For example, with FSX on my system, I only get 20 FPS. With P3D I get 40-50 FPS... That because it uses more of the GPU, so the CPU has more room to breathe :) P3D uses also DX11, where FSX uses DX9 (or DX10 with additional software...

I had the same problems, the cause was the scenery.cfg file. I let the program scenery config editor check that file, and it found that the link to the ESSA file was not good. I renewed the link to the right scenery folder and everything was OK again... So I think if you check/adjust the path to...
