On October 24, 2024, Shenzhen EngineAI Robotics unveiled its first full-size humanoid robot, SE01. Designed with cutting-edge technology and aesthetics, SE01 has set a new benchmark for humanoid robotics, sparking excitement and industry-wide discussions about the future of human-robot interaction.

One of SE01’s standout features is its advanced end-to-end neural network system. This breakthrough technology tackles a long-standing challenge in robotics: creating a natural, human-like gait.

The SE01 achieves this with unprecedented smoothness and energy efficiency, moving fluidly whether stationary or in motion.

Its movements challenge the typical image of robots with “choppy steps, bent knees, and stomping.” Instead, SE01’s strides are swift and smooth, bringing its behavior remarkably close to that of a human.



EngineAI Robotics credits SE01’s lifelike gait to a combination of innovative technology and meticulous design. The team has independently developed a specialized harmonic joint module and fine-tuned SE01’s movements by integrating reinforcement learning and imitation learning into its control systems. Equipped with dual processors from NVIDIA and Intel, as well as three sets of high-precision stereo cameras, SE01 boasts an advanced visual neural network system.
