In April 2022, a sequel was confirmed to be in early development and it would take place in New York City.

The film is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2023. Mckenna Grace is confirmed to reprise her role.

In December, Gil Kenan took over as director from Reitman, who still remains as a writer and producer. Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and Carrie Coon were also confirmed to return alongside Grace.
