Four BYD Cars Nominated for 2024 European Car of The Year

Nominated for the coveted title, the 2024 European Car of the Year has unveiled its finalists from a pool of 28 contenders. To qualify, nominees must be new cars currently available for purchase in five or more European markets or set to be so before the year's end.

The selection process involves two rounds of voting, with the shortlist of seven nominees to be disclosed on November 27 after the initial reduction. The ultimate winner will be declared at the Geneva Motorshow on February 26 after the completion of the second voting round. The 2024 CoTY jury, comprising 59 members from 22 nations, notes the suspension of two Russian members.

BYD leads with four nominations, the highest for any automaker, followed by three Hondas and two each for Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, and Hyundai. The comprehensive list of contenders includes BMW 5 Series, BYD Han, Honda ZR-V, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Volkswagen ID.7, presenting a diverse range of models for consideration.
