The Zone of Interest is a 2023 period drama film written and directed by Jonathan Glazer, loosely based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis. Filming took place in Auschwitz between 2021 and 2022. The Zone of Interest is a co-production between the United States, the United Kingdom and Poland. It premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on 19 May 2023 to critical acclaim, winning the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize
