If we visit Islamic boarding schools in [url=Hidayah Story]ACEH[/url], this poem will be familiarly sung by the students before reading the book and after the prayer which is usually held in bandongan.

In the book Maraqi Al-Ubudiyah written by Imam Nawawi Al-Bantani, which is the Sharh of the book Bidayah al-Hidayah written by Imam Al-Ghazali. Imam Nawawi quotes Nadhom Lam Yahtalim which was once revealed by Al-Bahr al-Basith.

لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ قَط طٰهُ مُطْلَقًا اَبَدًا

Lam yahtalim qaththuthaahu mutlaqan abada

Prophet Muhammad never dreamed of junub

وَمَا تَثَا ئَبَ أَصْلًا ِفى مَدَى الزمَنِ
Wa maa tatsaa aba ashlan fii madazzamani

Never yawned in his life

مِنْهُ الدوَا ب فَلَمْ تَهْرَبْ وَمَا وَقَعَتْ
Minhuddawaabu falam tahrob wa maa waqa'at

Even the animals don't run away from him


ذُبَابَةٌ أَبَدًا فِى جِسْمِهِ الْحَسَنِ
Dzubaabatun Abadan fii jismihil Khahani

And a fly never lands on her beautiful body

بِخَلْفِهِ كَأَ مَامٍ رُؤْيَةٌ ثَبَتَتْ
Bikholfihi ka a maamin ru'yatun tsabatat

What's behind is as real as what's in front of it

وَلَايُرٰى أَثْرُ بَوْلٍ مِنْهُ فِى عَلَنِ
Walaa yuraa atsru baulin minhu fii 'alani

No traces of urine have ever been seen

وَقَلْبُهُ لَمْ يَنَمْ وَالعَيْنُ قَدْ نَعَسَتْ
Waqalbuhu lam yanam wal'ainu qad na'asat

Even though his eyes are closed, his heart is always awake

ولَايُرٰى ظِلهُفِي الشمْسِ ذُوْ فَطَنِ
Walaa yuraa dhilluhu fissyamsi dzuu fathani

Intelligent people do not see their reflection in the light of the sun

كِتْفَاهُ قَدْ عَلَتَا قَوْ مًا اِذَا جَلَسُوْا
Katfaahu qad 'alatan qauman idzaa jalasuu

His shoulders seem higher than the shoulders of his people when sitting together

عِنْدَ الْوِ لَادَةِ صِفْ يَا ذَا بِمُخْتَتَنِ
'indalwi laa dati shifyaa dzaan bi mukhtatani

Know that when he was born he was already circumcised

هَذِي الْخَصَا ئِصَ فَاحْفَظْهَ تَكُنْ أۤمِنًا
Hadziil khoshoo I sho fakhfadhha takun a mina

مِنْ شَر نَارٍ وَسَر اقٍ وَمِنْ محَنِ
Minhu syarri naarin wa sarraqin wa min mikhani

You will be safe from the dangers of fire, thieves, and the slander of life
