The motive for the murder of a married couple (a couple) whose bodies were found in the ditch of the PTPN II sugar cane plantation in Tunggurono Village, Binjai Timur District, Binjai City, has now been revealed.

The perpetrator killed the couple because they wanted to take the victim’s valuables. Apart from the Honda Vario type motorbike, the perpetrator also took other valuables belonging to the victim.

The couple are Sugianto (56 years) and Astuti (59 years). They live in Hamlet 7 Sei Mencirim Village, Banten Village, Kutalimbaru District, Binjai.

Sugianto and his wife died horribly with slashed wounds in several parts of the body, including the neck and head.

    “The two victims died with a woman with a slash wound in the neck and bruising of the head, while the man had a broken head due to a blunt object,” said Head of Reskirm for Binjai Police, AKP Yayang Pratama, to reporters, Monday (22/2/2021).

Based on the information of the victim’s biological child named Alika, before being found dead, Sugianto and Astuti went shopping at the Tavip Binjai Market at around 04.00 WIB.

However, by 06.00 WIB, the time when they should have returned home, neither did they return home.

Worried that her parents have not returned home, Alika then complained to her uncle named Yamin.

Furthermore, Alika and her family looked for victims and combed the road from the house to the Tavip Market to find their whereabouts.

From the testimonies of a number of witnesses, they received news that the victim had bought jengkol at 05.30 WIB.

After a search, Yamin found the victim lying in a ditch near Jalan Gajah Mada near Kebun Dusun XII intersection.

    “If the scene of the incident was carried out, a temporary conclusion was obtained from the two victims of robbery with the motive of taking the victim’s motorcycle,” said Yayang.
