Law of Eating Tape in Islam.
Tape is one type of food that many people like. Islam also regulates the law of eating tape, because eating tape is part of the actions that will be held accountable in the hereafter, of course. What is the Islamic jurisprudence about the law of consuming / eating tape? Be it sticky tape or cassava tape. Check out the original article entitled "The Law of Eating Tapes".

Tape is cassava which has undergone a fermentation process (fermentation). In the process of fermenting cassava will occur the process of converting carbohydrates into glucose, as well as the conversion of glokasa to ethanol. Based on scientific research shows that fermented (perfectly or imperfectly) tapes contain glucose and ethanol. On the other hand, we have understood that ethanol is the substance of khamer. As a result, consuming tape that has been fermented to produce ethanol, the law is haraam. Because, you are consuming ethanol (khamer). The full reaction is as follows:

Carbohydrates ——> fermentation or hydrolysis —–> glucose ——> fermentation ——> ethanol (khamer).

As for the opinion that consuming tape is permissible, because the manufacturing process is natural, and has been considered a traditional food and not intoxicating; is an inappropriate opinion. The prohibition of objects is not based on the manufacturing process - natural or not - and also should not be based on the fact that the tape is considered traditional food. Proposal to establish halal or haramnya an object must be the Qur'an and Sunnah. As long as the object is not forbidden based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, then the object is muted for consumption. In the above explanation it is clear that tape contains elements of ethanol. As a result, he was forbidden to eat. Some said that ripe fruits also contain ethanol. Of course consuming ripe fruits is forbidden, because it contains ethanol.

To answer this doubt, we need to state that in ripe fruits do not contain ethanol at all. The atomic groups contained in ripe fruits are very complex (complex compounds). Even if there is an OH group, it is not automatically the OH group in the ripe fruit that is ethanol. However, the chemical structure of ripe fruits is mostly complex and may not contain ethanol. Other evidence shows that the Messenger of Allah and his companions in many stories used to consume ripe fruits. This is a proposition that fruits that have been cooked may be okay to consume. In addition, based on the announcements of the texts of the Qur'an, we can conclude that the original laws of objects are changed as long as there is no argument that forbids them. However, the Messenger of Allah (saw) forbade Muslims from consuming frothy grapes. We can understand this prohibition, because this foamed wine has undergone a fermentation process to produce ethanol. This also applies to other fruits. If it can be proven that the fruits - after being fermented - produce ethanol, then they are haram for consumption.
