Based on data from the agricultural department Temanggung 2010, the production of coffee reached 6264 tons. As for robusta coffee plantations in the region which arround 10,000 hectares produced 5800 tons of coffee. For the Arabica coffee pants, which is 1600 acres produced 460 tons. That’s why
Temanggung is well known as robusta coffee producer.
Many of the farmers are still producing coffee with simple, manual and traditional way, this makes the production of the robusta coffee is not yet perfect since it is less processed. Farmers are selling the coffee in the form of “Green Coffee beans ‘, because to make it into coffee powder, they need extra cost.
Because of this, the coffee business in Temanggung is still very wide open, for both types of Robusta or Arabica coffee which the production can become enromous at the harvest time, July through August.
