Ladybeard is an Australian cross-dressing wrestler who has been active in Japan for a couple of years now. He's made a few anime/pop covers already, his music style is called カワイイコア - kawaii core, or cute core. The two girls Rie and Rei, along with Shizu (the woman you see briefly) were winners in the MissID 2015 idol contest last year and are genuinely good friends. Together with Ladybeard they formed Ladybaby to "transcend nationality, age and gender" (and species if you include Maru-sama).

Ladybaby gets it's name from Ladybeard and the age difference, though I'm sure the similarity to Babymetal's name isn't accidental. But the music is more like DeathRabbits than Babymetal (Ladybaby's second live on Saturday was as guests of DeathRabbits). It has been said that this track is a "souvenir song" sent to the world in advance of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

All the members have busy careers: Ladybeard recently came back from Hongkong. Rei is vocalist in her own rock band called BRATS (brats.tk). She can actually play guitar (that's hers in the video) and her sister plays bass. Rie is training for a lead role in a new crowd-funded movie. Shizu designs clothes with her special brand of cartoon (to be honest I don't understand Shizu-san, but she exudes awesome).

Production team is also a new collaboration: magazine editor and organizer of the MissID contest, Tsukasa Kobayashita and the Clearstone company.
