1. Singapore
Conscription in Singapore, called National Service (NS), requires all male Singaporean citizens and non-first-generation permanent residents who have reached the age of 18 to enroll for national service. They serve a 22- or 24-month period as Full Time National Servicemen (NSFs), either in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), or the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
When a conscript completes his full-time service, he is considered to be "operationally ready", and is thereafter known as an Operationally-Ready National Serviceman (NSman). NSmen are the equivalent of other countries' reservists.
The overwhelming majority of the conscripts serve in the Army, as part of the SAF. The reasons for this include the relative manpower needs of the Army compared with the other armed services, the SPF, and SCDF. In addition, as compared to the Army, the Air Force (RSAF) and Navy (RSN) are smaller services composed primarily of regular servicemen. As the RSAF and RSN's manpower needs tend to be more specialized, a constant turnover of staff is considered to be very disruptive.
Singapore is among the list of countries with a national service exceeding 18 months and a reservist obligation lasting up to age 40 for enlisted men and 50 for officers.[1] Until June 2004 it had a mandatory national service period of 30 months. Sumber

2. Philiphines
Conscription in the Philippines has been implemented at several points in the country's history. At present, no mandatory conscription is in effect in the Philippines and military service is voluntary.[1] Conscription, however, remains a possibility as Section 4, Article II of the Constitution of the Philippines states:[2]
"The Government may call upon the people to defend the State and, in the fulfillment thereof, all citizens may be required, under conditions provided by law, to render personal, military or civil service."
—Section 4, Article II, Constitution of the Philippines
In addition, the National Service Training Program, instituted by virtue of Republic Act 9163, is a training program for national service, wherein both male and female college students of any baccalaureate degree course or technical vocational course in public or private educational institutions are obliged to undergo one of three program components for an academic period of two semesters.[3]

The National Service Training Programme, or Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN), is Malaysia's national service program. The conscripts are 18-year-old youths that are selectively drafted. The three-month program, which started in December 2003, began as way to encourage friendship between youths of certain ages from different races and ethnic groups and address concerns that the country's various groups were becoming increasingly isolated from one another.[1]

4.China
Universal conscription in China dates back to the State of Qin, which eventually became the Qin Empire of 221 BC. Following unification, historical records show that a total of 300,000 conscript soldiers and 500,000 conscript labourers constructed the Great Wall of China.[8]
In the following dynasties, universal conscription was abolished and reintroduced on numerous occasions.
As of 2011, universal military conscription is theoretically mandatory in the People's Republic of China, and reinforced by law. However, due to the large population of China and large pool of candidates available for recruitment, the People's Liberation Army has always had sufficient volunteers, so conscription has not been required in practice at all.[citation needed]

6. Myanmar
The military regime of Burma passed a conscription law on 4 November 2010, introducing conscription for men and women in the country. Already the 2008 Constitution, approved in 2008 in a referendum that opposition parties condemned as "sham", includes a new article allowing for conscription. Article 386 of Chapter VIII of the Constitution, titled "Citizen, Fundamental Rights and Duties of the Citizens" states: "Every citizen has the duty to undergo military training in accord with the provisions of the law and to serve in the Armed Forces to defend the Union."
According to the new law, which will come into force on the day the State Peace and Development Council (the military junta of Burma) enacts it by order, all citizens are eligible for military service: men from 18 to 35 (or to 45 if they are an 'expert'), and women from 18 to 27 (or to 35 for 'experts') (article 2). Military service will usually last up to 24 months, or up to 36 months for conscripts serving in a professional capacity (article 3). During a state of emergency, military service lasts up to five years.

12. Japan
Conscription was first introduced in Japan as early as 10 January 1873, though it was resisted at first by the samurai who dominated the Army leadership. There were a number of exemptions, particularly for firstborn sons, students, and teachers, and the middle and upper classes could buy their way out of conscription. The effect was to ensure that most conscripts were second and third sons of poor farmers. This did much to shape the character of the modern Japanese army. Students remained exempt until Japan became desperate for manpower in the final months of the war.
Under the Military Service Law of 1927, which governed conscription until 1945, all Japanese men were required to report for examination at age 20, and those selected for military duty had an obligation to serve for two years.sumber

Spoiler for Tahun 2013:

Namun beberapa tokoh setuju jika setiap warga negara Indonesia wajib mengikuti pelatihan militer.
Salah satu yang mendukung adalah Ketua Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat, Taufik Kiemas. "Perlu (wajib militer).
