The company "Agusta / Westland" begins certification tiltrotor AW-609

The company "Agusta / Westland" completed the design phase tiltrotor AW-609. Total flying time of two test samples apparatus was about 1000 hours.
According to "Finmeccanica", currently the program enters the phase of certification by the Federal Aviation Administration, which is expected to be completed in 2017.
"Agusta / Westland 'is also working with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to settle all formalities before the tiltrotor AW-609 will be offered on the commercial market.
Currently "Agusta / Westland" leads to the assembly plant in Vergiate third prototype AW-609, which will join the flight test program in 2014. The fourth prototype will be included in a certification program later that would test a new set of in-flight avionics.
The company "Rockwell Collins» (Rockwell Collins) deliver a fully integrated cockpit for the AW-609, including a 14-inch touchscreen display, integrated flight control systems, satellite navigation systems, head-up displays, etc. Kit will provide increased crew situational awareness and reduce pilot workload.
