Penghargaan akan sebuah karya di ranah video game memang menjadi penyemangat tersendiri bagi para
developer untuk mencoba menghadirkan yang terbaik.

Berbagai ajang penghargaan digelar setiap tahunnya dengan memunculkan judul-judul populer sebagai pemenang.
Di penghujung tahun 2014, gamer akan kembali disuguhnya sebuah ajang penghargaan lainnya yang bernama The
Game Awards 2014. Sekilas mengenai The Game Awards, event ini rencananya digelar pada 5 Desember 2014 mendatang di Las Vegas, dan bisa disaksikan secara langsung secara streaming.

Penggagasnya adalah Geoff Keighley, host dari Spike VGX. Beberapa perusahaan besar seperti Sony,
Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, EA, Warner Bros, Valve, Rockstar, dan Hideo Kojima telah sepakat untuk memberi dukungan terhadap The Game Awards.
