Brazil bisa beli Sea Ceptor. Kita ?
LONDON — Brazil has become the second export customer for MBDA’s Sea Ceptor air defense missile the company announced Friday.
The European missile maker said the Brazilian Navy intends to use the weapon on the new Tamandare-class of corvettes now in development.
The value of the deal has not been revealed.
New Zealand ordered the Sea Ceptor, a variant of the Common Anti Air Modular Missile being developed by the UK arm of MBDA, in the middle of the year.
That deal followed an announcement last year that the UK Ministry of Defence was spending £250 million (US $394.2 million) equipping updated Royal Navy Type 23 frigates with the weapon starting in 2016.
The weapons will be subsequently transferred to future Type 26 frigates targeted to enter service in 2022.
Sea Ceptor is a local area weapon capable of defending against sea-skimming missiles, helicopters and fast jets.
