Suara.com - Kepanikan terjadi di sebuah desa di Liberia menyusul tersiarnya kabar dua orang yang meninggal dunia akibat virus Ebola, bangkit dari kematian.

Kedua korban Ebola, yakni seorang perempuan berusia 40 dan 60 tahun, meninggal akibat virus mematikan. Namun, mereka berasal dari dua komunitas warga yang berbeda di wilayah Nimba, Liberia.

Menurut laporan surat kabar setempat, keduanya diberitakan bangkit dari kematian dan berjalan. Akibatnya warga panik dan ketakutan.

Lansiran New Dawn, Dorris Quoi (40) dari Desa Hope dan Ma Kebeh (60) akan dibawa ke tempat pemakaman. Namun, entah apa sebabnya, keduanya bangun dari kematian.

Ma Kebeh berada di dalam ruangan selama dua malam tanpa makanan dan pengobatan sebelum akhirnya dinyatakan meninggal dunia.

Beberapa kasus Ebola yang tidak biasa terjadi di wilayah Nimba. Salah satunya adalah kasus seorang dokter yang mengklaim bahwa dirinya bisa menyembuhkan pasien yang terinfeksi. Namun, ternyata justru dirinyalah yang jadi korban keganasan Ebola dan meninggal dunia pekan lalu.

New Dawn mengungkap, sejak Ebola mewabah di Nimba, baru kali ini ada kasus orang mati yang bangkit dari kematian.

Wabah Ebola telah menewaskan sekitar 2.800 orang di lima negara Afrika Barat tahun ini. Sementara itu, sekitar 5.800 orang lainnya dikabarkan telah terinfeksi oleh virus yang konon belum ditemukan obatnya itu.

Pusat Pengendalian dan Pencegahan Penyakit (CDC) Amerika Serikat memprediksi akan ada 1,4 juta kasus Ebola pada akhir Januari tahun depan. Sejauh ini, CDC telah berhasil menyembuhkan dua dokter yang terinfeksi oleh penyakit mematikan itu. Sementara itu, menurut Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), jumlah orang yang terinfeksi Ebola bisa mencapai 20.000 pada awal November jika upaya pencegahan penyebarannya tidak segera dipercepat. The New Dawn Nimba County said the late Dorris Quoi of Hope Village Community and the second victim identified as Ma Kebeh, in her late 60s, were about to be taken for burial when they rose from the dead.
