Jordan APV.

Notorious Jordanian Design Bureau King Abdullah II (King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau - KADDB) continues begun almost half a decade ago, work on the creation of various types of heavy tracked armored vehicles on tank chassis.
Basically the idea KADDB revolves around various projects "disposal" of retired Jordanian army 293 upgraded tanks Centurion, called Jordan Tariq.
Design work KADDB conducted with the active participation of foreign contractors (at different times, they managed to take part Ukrainian, Russian, British, Swiss and yuzhnoafrrikanskie enterprise).

Since 1999, Tariq chassis were built prototypes of heavy infantry fighting vehicles AV13 (created with the assistance of KMDB), AV14 and heavy APCs IDA (Multipurpose Armour Platform), but they all remained in the test samples.
New milestone KADDB was demonstrated in this year's prototype heavy bronetrasportёra MAP II, made on the basis of the same Tariq, and wherein such an original solution, as an outlet for a landing in the front of the chassis.
Information about BTR MAP II reported in the article Christopher F Foss «Jordan anticipates MAP II use for infantry battalions» magazine «International Defence Review». BTR MAP II retains the basic layout of the tank Tariq keeping the engine compartment at the back (with the standard engine modernized tank L-3 Combat Propulsion Systems AVDS-1790 V-12 power 900 hp and automatic transmission Allison CD 850-6A). Thus, there was a failure of the AV14 and piloted in the first IDA "turnaround" combat vehicle engine compartment forward. Road speed MAP II reaches 60 km / h, power reserve - 200 km (600 liters of fuel).

In the middle of the hull MAP II is equipped with a troop compartment that accommodates 11 people (including the commander). The most interesting solution is the implementation of exit from the troop compartment forward through the frontal part of the body - the left side of which is equipped with a folding door 1 m high and 75 cm wide. On the roof of the troop compartment also has four hatches.
It is planned that in the serial samples Troopers will be placed in "suspended" explosion-proof seats. The driver is located in the front part of the body to the right and has its own door.
Weapons represented the prototype MAP II includes remotely controlled turret with a 12.7mm machine gun M2NV and ATGM "Kornet-E" and a separate 7.62-mm machine gun on the M60 manual turret front commander's hatch.
The combat weight of the IDA II and the level of protection were not disclosed. It is evident that the board reserved additional packages mounted passive protection. Machines having an auxiliary power unit, located in the front of the case right.
The article reported that the Jordanian army approved the draft MAP II and KADDB issued an order for two pre-production machines with an option for a further 30 BTR production of the first series to equip one infantry battalion.
However, given that almost none of the projects of heavy armor KADDB has not gone further prototypes, there is some doubt about the fact that this extravagant car with front exit of troops will be brought before adopting.
