TRIBUN-MEDAN.com, KIEV — Sebuah pesawat terbang milik Malaysia Airlines dikabarkan jatuh di Ukraina. Demikian sejumlah sumber penerbangan yang dikutip kantor berita Rusia, Interfax, Kamis (17/7/2014).
Pesawat tersebut, yang tengah menjalani rute dari Amsterdam menuju Kuala Lumpur, mengangkut 295 orang di dalamnya, diperkirakan jatuh di dekat perbatasan Ukraina dan Rusia.
Seorang juru bicara Malaysia Airlines membenarkan telah terjadi "sebuah insiden" terhadap salah satu pesawatnya dan akan mengeluarkan pernyataan resmi dalam waktu singkat.
Pesawat terbang yang jatuh itu diyakini sebuah Boeing 777 dengan nomor penerbangan MH17, yang meninggalkan Amsterdam, Belanda pada pukul 12.14 waktu setempat atau kira-kira pukul 19.14 WIB.
Pesawat itu sedang terbang dekat kota Shaktarsk di wilayah Donetsk yang dikuasi pemberontak pro-Rusia, ketika hilang dari radar dan tim penolong sedang menuju ke wilayah itu.

The Donetsk People’s Republic, where fighting continues between Kiev and opposition, has rejected any involvement in the incident, as there are reports that the plane was shot down.
It said its self-defense forces just don’t have such military equipment.
Residents have reported about finding debris from a plane, which they say could belong to the Malaysian Boeing. They also said no bodies have been seen, RIA Novosti reports.
