Additional Sessions Judge of Berhampur on Monday convicted S.Asha Reddy, who had raped his own daughter-in-law. He was punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs. 5,000. According to assistant public prosecutor, Arati Patnaik, who conducted the prosecution, there were 12 witnesses in this case. According to her, the convict was a resident of Matiabarai village under Patapur police station in Ganjam district. He had raped his daughter-in-law in his home on December 2, 2006. As the evidences and statements of witnesses in court proved the involvement of Reddy in this rape within family, the additional sessions judge Dhaneswar Mallik convicted him, said Ms Patnaik
