The "Silver Coast" receives two new Rafale

After being received by the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) September 12, 2013, the two-seater Rafale B 339 registered first copy of the 4th installment of production Rafale program came on September 17 118 Airbase Mont-de-Marsan. A week later, it was the turn of B 340, joining the ranks of the squadron and experimentation 5/330 "Silver Coast".

60 aircraft of this slice of production are all fitted as standard next-generation sensors, namely radar RBE2 EASA active antenna sensor missile launch new generation (DDM NG) and the frontal sector optronics "identification and telemetry ".

The Rafale is the first European combat aircraft in service benefit from AESA technology (Active Electronically Scanned Array radar / active antenna), which can significantly improve the detection range. It is the culmination of over 10 years of research and development efforts on active antennas.

To date, 180 series aircraft have been ordered by the DGA and 122 aircraft delivered in three versions: 38 million cars on board the Navy, 40 B and 44 seater cars C for the air force.
