Hello readers, actually this is my first thread on this sub-forum. I want to ask you, whether you're expert or not in English but if you know what the answer is, please make any response.

I wonder why English has so many accents? I can understand why it comes with Singaporean, Italian, Chinese, Indian, and many more accents, because long time ago when British people came to those countries, people from those countries try to learn English and the result is a new accent. I can understand that.

What I don't understand is when European people move to a new land, called America and after a quite long time, those people have different accents and if you listen to Americans now, you'll spot a huge difference between Americans and British people.

PS: The word "Americans" means people who live in Unites States of America, not the people who live in the continent America.
