The living room features stone flooring and a hand-carved marble fireplace imported from Italy. A large circular window lights up the space, which is adjacent to the dining room.

The dining room has hand-painted murals of an outdoor scene. 'It's almost like you're looking outside,' Ms. Ackley said.

The solarium, pictured here, is one of Ms. Ackley's favorite features of the home. Located off the kitchen, the room is used for gardening, as well as an eat-in dining area. 'I'm kind of a plant nut,' Ms. Ackley says about her garden, which includes avocado trees. Because of the greenhouse effect, it's also a great room for frigid Wisconsin winters, she said.

The home includes an indoor pool, which was an important aspect of the design. One of the couple's children has special needs, and the pool was included for physical therapy reasons. The couple's six children range from 14 to 28 years old, Ms. Ackley said.

The home includes six bedrooms, each of which has its own en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. There are seven full bathrooms and six half baths, Ms. Ackley said.

Mr. Ackley is the owner of a custom boat building company based in Wisconsin. Ms. Ackley is a real-estate broker with First Weber Realtors. Mr. Ackley's office is shown. 'I told him that's the only place he can hang them in the house,' she said about his collection of big game trophies.

One of the children's rooms is shown. Ms. Ackley says they're looking to sell because they're spending more time in Florida. She said they'll keep a home in Wisconsin at least until their youngest children finish high school.

As their children have grown up and moved out, the way they use the house is changing. This music room was filled with several of the children's instruments. Now they use it as a sitting room.

An indoor basketball court, with a second-floor viewing area, is shown. 'It's really like you can be interactive,' Ms. Ackley said about the viewing balcony. The room has also doubled as a dance space, thanks to the surround sound system installed.

The property includes a nine-car garage.

Ms. Ackley said she listed the home around 2007-'08 for $6.8 million. The property was taken off the market and then relisted in May for $4.5 million with Joe Bidwill of Hunter's Fairway Sotheby's International Realty.

It is being sold by Wendy and Kris Ackley, who bought the land for around $300,000 in 2001 before building the Mediterranean-style mansion in 2005, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Their design aimed to keep their six children entertained, and they built an indoor basketball court, a library, an artist studio and a movie theater for the youngsters to pass the hours. They also built plenty of perks for themselves - including an opulent kitchen with Viking appliances, as well as an outdoor kitchen on the outdoor terrace, which overlooks the water.

Ms. Ackley told the Wall Street Journal that the project also gave them a chance to create a space that combined the best features of European design.
