GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 10, 2013) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (fuel) 3rd Class Meyatta McFarland, assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), conducts a quality assurance test of the ship’s jet propellant (JP) 5 fuel. The Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, currently on deployment in the U. S. 7th Fleet area of operations, is taking part in the annual multi-national combined joint training exercise Cobra Gold, and will be participating in amphibious integration training (AIT), and certification exercise (CERTEX).
