The impaired driving case of Councillor Ana Bailao has been put over until December 31.

Her lawyer, Peter Thorning, made a brief appearance on her behalf at Old City Hall courthouse Monday morning to set the date as he awaits “disclosure” of materials in the case, which he told the court includes a video.

Afterwards, he said it’s unlikely the next court appearance would result in a trial date. Ms. Bailao was not in court Monday.

Mr. Thorning declined to comment further on the case.

The first-term Davenport councillor was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. on October 16 near Bathurst and Harbord streets and charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 milligrams.

She has said she intends to plead not guilty.
