Rumor mengenai sekuel lanjutan Sherlock Holmes besutan Warner Bros. Pictures kembali mencuat. Film ini direncanakan tayang pada 2014. Mengingat kesibukan Robert Downey Jr. akan proyek garapan Marvel Studios, seperti The Avengers 2 yang dipastikan meluncur pada 2015, kesempatan untuk menggarap seri ketiga Sherlock Holmes terbuka pada tahun 2013 ini. Pihak Warnes Bros sendiri telah menunjuk Drew Pearce sebagai penulis naskah untuk sekuel dari Sherlock Holmes : A Game Of Shadows ini

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros has set Drew Pearce to write Sherlock Holmes 3, continuing the Guy Ritchie-directed series that stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. The deal will soon be sealed with Pearce, who is currently writing Iron Man 3, which will also star Downey.

Plot Summary: Warner Bros. has hired Drew Pearce to tackle the script. It is rumored that the story will be about the master thief in literature, Arsene Lupin. No other talent is currently attached to a third Sherlock Holmes, though it is an almost certainty that Downey and Jude Law will return as Holmes and Dr. Watson.

JUDE LAW INTERVIEW ABOUT THE THIRD INSTALLMENT




The sheer mass of Sherlock Holmes-based material hasn't seemed to slow down the current big screen team behind the famous detective and Dr. Watson. MTV News caught up with Jude Law during the Toronto International Film Festival, where he was promoting his new film with Joe Wright, "Anna Karenina," to talk about the next installment.

"We were already, as with the first one, talking about the second," Law said. "On the second, we were talking about ideas for the third and where we could go.

The actor spoke fondly of the team behind the films and their passion for the material. From the way he talks about the series, it seems like "Holmes 3" is a foregone conclusion.


"There's a real team there, a real passionate team to get on and really enjoy each other's company and also are happy the world has embraced our take on that wonderful duo," Law said. "We've got lots of ideas. I think there's a script being played, toyed around with. Robert is busy saving the world in other ways, and I'm doing my thing. It's a matter of 'when' not 'if,' I think."

But where do they go for a third "Holmes"? Law said there are many possibilities, but he wouldn't get too specific. "We want to raise the bar. We don't want to throw too much at it because then it becomes gaudy. We want to look at what works, and we also want to keep it fresh and exciting," he said. "The good news is, you look back at the tome of work that Conan Doyle did and there are so many possibilities of what you can interweave and what you can use. I don't know. I'm not going to give anything away."

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY FOR NEXT SEQUEL OF SHERLOCK HOLMES?


Artis cantik Rosie Huntington Whiteley dikabarkan sangat berminat untuk ambil andil dalam lanjutan film Sherlock Holmes pada sekuel berikutnya. Kekasih actor Jason Statham itu dikenal memang dekat dengan sang sutradara yakni Guy Ritchie. Dan seakan memanfaatkan kondisi pertemanannya itu, Rosie berusaha meyakinkan Ritchie kalau ia layak terlibat dalam proyek lanjutan Sherlock Holmes.
Menurut seorang sumber yang dikutip dari Showbizspy, Rosie telah menyarankan pada Guy kalau ia bisa memainkan karakter wanita yang berbahaya dalam film Sherlock Holmes berikutnya. “Dia juga mengatakan pada Guy kalau ia rela melakukan sesuat yang besar dan yakin tidak akan gagal. Akan ada banyak kesempatan yang dia pertimbangkan,” tambahnya.
Dan meskipun masih tergolong sebagai pendatang baru, namun Rosie Huntington Whiteley telah memiliki prestasi yang cukup bagus dalam film Transformers: Dark of the moon (2011). Debut aktingnya dalam film garapan Michael Bay tersebut membuatnya meraih penghargaan Showest 2011 sebagai Aktris Masa depan dan berhasil masuk nominasi Teen Choice Award pada tahun yang sama.
Sementara pihak Warner Bros sendiri agaknya telah mempersiapkan seri ketiga Sherlock Holmes tersebut sejak film kedua selesai diproduksi. Meski belum diketahui kapan film tersebut akan mulai diproduksi, namun pihak studio telah menyewa jasa Drew Pearce untuk menulis naskahnya yang juga diketahui bahwa Pearce merupakan penulis naskah Iron Man 3.
Akankah hubungan pertemanan Rosie dan Ritchie bisa membawa rosie ke seri ketiga Sherlock Holmes? Jawaban itu tentunnya layak kita tunggu.
