Immigrants come to Canada with dreams of a better life. But their job prospects here are often so minimal, that dream sometimes becomes a nightmare.
The statistics are daunting. Nationally, the unemployment rate currently sits at 7.6 per cent. But for recent immigrants, it's almost double 14.5 per cent.
Professionally trained economists and teachers are resorting to entry-level jobs outside their sector, and often have problems finding even those jobs. Amanda Lang spoke to several new Canadians facing the difficult job market recently.
