News: Nekogami Yaoyorozu Comedy Manga Gets TV Anime

FLIPFLOPs' comedy about cat goddess in antique shop & other goddesses who visit

The 23rd volume of Akita Shoten's Champion RED Ichigo magazine is announcing on Saturday that a television anime adaptation of FLIPFLOPs' Nekogami Yaoyorozu manga has been green-lit. The "neighborhood deity comedy" centers around Mayu-sama, a cat goddess (nekogami) who lives at Yaoyorozu-dō, an antique shop owned by Yuzu Komiya. Unexpected visitors in the form of other goddesses stop by the antique shop.

The manga has been running in Champion RED Ichigo since 2007, and the third compiled book volume shipped in April. There have also been two standalone drama CDs and two more drama CDs that were bundled witht the magazine; Rie Kugimiya (Mayu) and Mai Nakahara (Yuzu Komiya) starred in the drama CDs.

News: Nekogami Yaoyorozu Anime's 2nd Promo Video Streamed

Haruka Tomatsu plays cat goddess living with antique shop manager (Yui Horie)

The official website for the Nekogami Yaoyorozu television anime series began streaming its second promotional video on Sunday. (The first promotional video from last month is still available.) In this anime which will premiere in July, director Hiroaki Sakurai (Cromartie High School, Di Gi Charat) and the studio AIC are adapting FLIPFLOPs' Nekogami Yaoyorozu "neighborhood deity comedy" manga of the same name.

The story follows a cat goddess (nekogami) named Mayu-sama (Haruka Tomatsu) who lives at Yaoyorozu-dō, an antique shop run by Yuzu Komiya (Yui Horie). Unexpected visitors in the form of other goddesses stop by the antique shop.
