Seven Days To Yesterday Chapter 01

On the eve of the wedding, paparazzi captured William Sterling on a late-night rendezvous with a company intern.
Furious and heartbroken, Sarah Jenkins bought a plane ticket to escape.
She just wanted to clear her head—she never expected to land five years in the future.
The world she knew was gone.
Her parents' phone numbers were out of service.
But what nearly made her collapse was the notification flashing on the public computer screen:
"Identity Status: Deceased. Account Cancelled"
A heavy tear splashed onto her phone screen, accidentally waking the display.
The wallpaper lit up.
It was her and William's formal wedding portrait—frozen in a happiness that felt like a lifetime ago.
Jolted back to reality, Sarah hurriedly unlocked her phone and dialed William.
She held her breath, counting every agonizing ring.
Suddenly, the line connected. A familiar voice echoed in her ear.
"Hello?"
Sarah's heart, which had been suspended in her throat, finally settled.
But in the next second, all her fear, confusion, and grievance came crashing down, breaching her defenses.
"Honey, something weird is happening... I'm so scared."
"Can you come pick me up?"
William fell silent for a long moment.
When he finally spoke, his voice was terrifyingly calm. "Okay."

It wasn't until she stepped into the familiar office that reality finally crashed down on Sarah.
She threw herself into William's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
After what felt like forever, William frowned.
He reached up and pried her away from him. "You're telling me... you time-traveled?"
Sarah nodded frantically.
William let out a dumbfounded, incredulous laugh. "You really dare to spin a lie like that?"
"Five years ago, you chose to run away from our wedding. And five years later, you come back with an excuse this ridiculous?"
"You... you don't believe me?" Sarah stared at him.
Just a few days ago—in her timeline—they had been taking their wedding photos together.
Yet at this moment, the man standing before her felt like an utter stranger.
"How can I believe you?"
William shot back, his voice rising. "Five years ago, you vanished. You cut off all contact. Our engagement became a joke to the entire city."
His eyes darkened with pain. "Your parents were frantic with worry. In their rush to find you, they drove themselves to exhaustion."
"They crashed, Sarah. They both passed away."
Sarah squeezed her eyes shut in agony. She gripped the edge of the desk, trying her best to steady her trembling body against the weight of the truth.
It took a long while before she could find her voice. "What about you? In these five years, did you look for me?"
William's gaze was cold; he did not answer.
Just then, a gentle female voice drifted in as the door was pushed open.
"Honey, I brought you some afternoon tea..."
Sarah's body instantly stiffened, her blood seeming to congeal in that very moment. She didn't dare turn around, yet she could feel the person approaching step by step.
William reached out to embrace the newcomer's shoulder, his tone softening. "As you can see, I am married. This is my wife, Isabella Montgomery."
Coming into Sarah's view was the very intern from the paparazzi photos five years ago, the one on a late-night date with William.
Isabella wore her hair in a loose bun, a decorous smile on her face. "Hello there."
Sarah felt the world spinning around her.
Overnight, she had lost not only her parents but also her lover.
She stumbled as she turned, walking outward with weak, unsteady steps.
"Sarah," William's tone remained calm and rippleless. "You have nowhere else to go right now."
"For the sake of our past, stay at our place for now. We can figure out the rest later."
Isabella stepped forward and took Sarah's hand, speaking gently, "Yes, although I don't know what happened, you look devastated. You must be in some kind of trouble. Why don't you come back with us first?"
Sarah felt as if her chest had been pierced through, throbbing with a dull, relentless pain.
William once said he would take her home—a place that belonged only to the two of them.
But now, the home he spoke of belonged to him and another woman.
Just like that, Sarah was led to the underground garage.
William practicedly pulled open the passenger door, and Sarah instinctively moved to get in.
William frowned slightly but said nothing, instead gently helping Isabella into the back seat.
Sarah clenched her hands, realizing her faux pas, and felt mortified.
Even though William's passenger seat had once been exclusively hers. But now, Isabella was his wife.
The engine started. On the stereo, the jazz and drum beats Sarah loved had been replaced by soft, instrumental music.
The car followed the route etched in her memory, finally stopping in front of that familiar villa.
This place was originally meant to be her and William's marital home. From the interior to the garden, every inch had been designed and decorated by William to suit her tastes.
But now, the place had become completely unrecognizable.
Sarah was ushered into a guest room on the first floor. But before she could even sit down to catch her breath, several servants barged in.
"Ms. Jenkins, is it?" the head maid asked coldly.
"Mrs. Sterling is pregnant. We need to check if you've brought any dangerous items into the house."
The word "pregnant" pierced Sarah's temples like a needle.
Her vision went black for a split second.
They were having a child? She—the bride-to-be from five years ago—was now nothing more than an intruder. She was utterly superfluous.
Seeing no reaction from her, the servant didn't wait for permission.
She reached straight for Sarah's bag. "Pardon us, Ms. Jenkins."
Her fingernails dug deep into her palms, the sharp pain bringing Sarah back to her senses.
She used to be the mistress of this villa. Now, she was treated as a threat to the new mistress, subjected to a humiliating search.
She looked up at the servant, her tone turning cold. "Is this William's order?"
One of them nodded. "Mr. Sterling gave the instructions. We must ensure Mrs. Sterling's safety."
"If those are his orders, tell him to come search it himself!"
At these words, the servants lost their nerve. They exchanged uneasy glances, then silently retreated from the room, closing the door behind them.
Finally alone in the sudden silence, a wave of desolation crashed over her.
Sarah slid down against the door, collapsing to the floor. She hugged her knees to her chest, choking back her sobs.
Through her tear-blurred vision, she spotted her bag lying open on the carpet.
The corner of a plane ticket was sticking out.
She sniffled, wiping her eyes, and reached out to pull it free. But as her gaze fell upon the ticket information, her heart skipped a beat.
The text in the date field had changed. It now clearly read:
"In 7 days, return to September 30, 2020."
