I Left The Playboy Billionaire Chapter 01
Everyone in Chicago knew that Christopher Cohen only liked 18-year-old girls.
But Stephanie Doyle was already 21 when she was with him, and she'd stayed by his side for nearly three years.
That evening, Stephanie got a call from Christopher. He informed her that he'd be back in Chicago tonight and offhandedly added that he felt like having beef brisket. Stephanie spent two hours cooking a delicious spread, but after waiting for ages, Christopher never returned.
A little past eight, she called to check in. It was very noisy on Christopher's end, filled with laughter and the clatter of poker chips.
"I'm at Bally's Casino. I'll get the driver to pick you up."
"Didn't you say you were coming back for dinner?" Stephanie asked.
"You haven't eaten yet? What do you feel like? Come over—I'll have someone make it," Christopher said, completely unconcerned.
Stephanie fell silent for a moment. She was about to agree when someone on the other end yelled, "I win!"
Amid the buzz, another laughed, "What's so special about Stephanie? Aren't you bored of her yet? Don't tell me you're actually serious about her, Mr. Cohen!"
Christopher scoffed, "Get a hold of yourself before speaking to me."
"You guys don't understand—people get attached to their pets after raising them for so long, let alone an obedient lapdog like Stephanie! How could Mr. Cohen let her go?"
"Get lost!" Christopher shot back with a laugh.
The poker chips shuffled around once more before it fell silent. Christopher probably realized he hadn't ended the call and quickly hung up.
By the time Stephanie arrived at the casino, the same group of friends was still gathered around the table, playing as if nothing had happened. No one really cared, though. They were certain Stephanie wouldn't dare make a fuss even if she overheard their conversation.
Stephanie was good-looking, but beautiful women were everywhere. Given Christopher's social standing in Chicago, he could have any woman he wanted. The only reason Stephanie managed to stay by his side all these years was her obedience and tactfulness.
Sure enough, Stephanie simply lowered her gaze and sat quietly beside Christopher.
When they left the venue at midnight, Christopher was slightly drunk as he leaned against Stephanie. She helped him into the car, working up a light sweat.
The car drove down a dark, empty road. There were no streetlights, giving it a remote, desolate feel.
Christopher leaned over and kissed Stephanie. She had been sitting upright, but when he sucked on her earlobe, she couldn't help letting out a soft moan. Christopher grew more excited, grabbing her hand and moving it to his hard bulge before pressing his body against hers.
"Wait, stop..." Stephanie murmured, glancing nervously toward the front.
Christopher didn't stop and knocked on the partition behind him. The car slowly pulled over to the side of the road.
Christopher was inventive and uninhibited when it came to sex. Even after being with him for so long, Stephanie wasn't used to his antics. When she heard the driver step out and close the door, her face flushed deep red.
Christopher seemed to like this side of her. He pinched her cheek, then grabbed her chin and kissed her again, freeing one hand to undo his belt.
In the cramped space, Christopher moved quickly and intensely. In the late fall night, both of them ended up covered in sweat.
Stephanie tilted her head back and watched sweat slide down from Christopher's handsome face to his jaw, his Adam's apple, his chest, and further down. She had to admit, even without his status as the Cohen family's heir, his looks alone could captivate many.
Noticing her gaze, Christopher laughed. "What are you looking at? Getting bolder now, huh?"
Before Stephanie could respond, Christopher slipped a diamond bracelet on her wrist. It slid down slightly on her forearm, cool to the touch.
"It's your birthday gift." Feeling satisfied, Christopher rolled off her and lazily pulled his shirt over himself.
Stephanie lowered her gaze. It was just after midnight on October 19. Actually, it wasn't her birthday.
"Thank you." Stephanie leaned in, wrapped her arms around Christopher's waist, and kissed his cheek.
The next second, his phone rang. Stephanie instinctively looked over, but Christopher picked it up first.
"Chris..." Leanne Reynolds' soft, tearful voice echoed inside the cramped car.
Christopher immediately sat upright. "What happened? Don't panic—tell me slowly."
On the other end, she only cried without speaking. Christopher frowned as he quickly buttoned his shirt. "I'll be right there."
After hanging up, he fastened the last button and said, "Get out."
He didn't bother explaining, nor did he give Stephanie time to tidy herself up.
Wrapped in a coat, Stephanie stood by the overgrown roadside, watching Christopher's car disappear into the night. The sweat on her body slowly cooled in the night air, clinging uncomfortably to her skin.
Just then, her phone buzzed. Stephanie took it out.
"See? All it takes is one call from me, and he'll leave you."
Stephanie could sense the smug arrogance from afar. She pulled down her collar, took a photo of the hickeys on her neck, and sent it.
After a while, she received a response. "You're a shameless bitch!"
Stephanie smirked. Messages kept coming in, one after another. Without looking, Stephanie knew the sender was probably calling her a pretentious slut or a homewrecker. She put her phone back in her pocket, hugged herself as she shivered in the wind, and let out a self-deprecating smile.
Fortunately, she only had to endure 11 more days like this before it would all be over.
