Leaked Secrets Broken Trust Chapter 01
Chapter 1 Sex Video Exposed
The biggest drama of the year at Oxyork University? Joey from the art department’s first-night video got leaked into the campus group chat.
The video was shot in a five-star hotel’s presidential suite.
Joey was totally naked, pinned up against the floor-to-ceiling window by a guy taller than her. Rhythmic sounds filled the room.
Afterward, the guy whispered “good girl” right in her ear.
Those two words blew up the group chat like a bomb.
[Is that voice… Humphrey’s?]
[Joey’s got game, huh? Hooked up with our school’s board chairman! No wonder all the people who bullied her before went quiet.]
[Always thought Joey was innocent. Turns out she’s a manipulative bitch—just like her mom, the homewrecker!]
When the news got to Joey, she was in the dorm knitting a scarf for Humphrey.
Her roommate cranked up the video volume, passing the phone around with a mocking grin. She drawled, “Joey, you sound so pro at this. Must’ve done it a bunch of times, right?”
Laughter surrounded her. Joey’s face went pale, and she froze. The half-knitted scarf slipped right out of her hands. She bolted out the door.
She stumbled toward Humphrey’s office, desperate to ask him about the video.
But just as she reached the door, she heard mocking voices inside.
“Humphrey, you really didn’t leave Joey any dignity, did you? Purposely taking such clear pics of her—no way she can explain this away.”
Those words made Joey’s head spin. A cold chill shot through her body.
“It’s her own fault, ain’t it? She ticked off Humphrey’s favorite girl. Getting revenge is only fair.”
“Tough on Humphrey, though. Not only spread rumors that Joey’s mom is a homewrecker, but also acted like her savior from the bullies—putting on that deep, caring act for her.”
“Hey Humphrey, when you gonna tell her the truth? That girl… if she finds out the guy she’s crushing on is actually her future brother-in-law, she’ll probably pass out on the spot. Haha…”
On the sofa, Humphrey slouched lazily. He tapped his cigarette against the edge of the ashtray, his face unreadable.
Seeing he was quiet, his buddy asked quickly, “Feel bad for her? She went through all that trouble to send Willette abroad for two whole years—made her suffer over there, no food or warm clothes. Can’t just let her off the hook like that!”
When he heard Willette’s name, Humphrey finally moved.
He put out his cigarette and said coldly, “Wait till Willette gets back. That day’s also the anniversary Joey’s been looking forward to forever. I’ll give her a ‘surprise’—make her pay back everything she owes Willette.”
Joey gasped for air. Her gaze, through the smoke, landed on Humphrey’s cold face. A sharp pain tore through her chest, making her vision go black.
So those rumors trashing her mom? Humphrey spread ’em!
Humphrey chased her, protected her—all just for revenge.
The one he really loved was her half-sister, Willette.
Joey couldn’t listen anymore. She turned to run, panicking.
But she hadn’t gone far when a group of girls blocked her way.
“Oh look, it’s the star of that little video!”
“Just came out of his office—rushing to throw yourself at him again?”
Joey’s face went pale. She tried to get away, but the girls pushed her around.
Right then, Humphrey’s cold voice came from behind: “Mess with Joey under my nose? You wanna die?”
Humphrey had left his office at some point. He was tall and built.
The girls saw him and scattered like scared birds.
He walked up to Joey, fixed her messy hair, and leaned in. His fingertips brushed her cheek softly.
“Didn’t I tell you? If anyone bullies you again, just say my name.”
His familiar tobacco smell hit her nose, making her eyes water a little.
Seeing Humphrey now felt like a flashback. He’d always been the one protecting her—countless times.
Back then, when her mom killed herself and her dad got back with his ex, she felt like an orphan—even though she wasn’t technically.
Then school rumors started: her mom was a homewrecker, and Willette was the real Smith family daughter.
As “the homewrecker’s daughter,” she got bullied nonstop. But Humphrey saved her. He used his board member status to make a warm little world for her.
Yesterday was Humphrey’s birthday. They got drunk, and stuff happened. He dropped his usual fancy act, dominated her right in front of that big window—while she shook, way too nervous.
With Humphrey, she finally felt like she’d found a home after wandering for so long. But little did she know, every step was part of his plan.
Joey zoned out for a second.
When she snapped back to reality, Humphrey had already led her out of the building and into the passenger seat of his car.
